I remember my first MS back in 2007-2008.... It was a MS2E! Damn I guess the MS1 was solid enough people still rock it.

hornetball 06-23-2015 06:22 PM

Yeah, I've got MS1-based MSPNPs in both cars. They've been in there for years.

MS1s are open-source, which is nice. Allowed me to write custom code for the Silver car to handle AC idle-up.

Fuel injection. He has it set for 2 squirts/cycle, alternating. My understanding is it has to be on Simultaneous/1 squirt/cycle for sequential fuel to activate. At least with MS3 PRO.

Hm. 2 squirts/alternating is what my MS Labs MS3 came configured as from Reverant.

Same here. I pulled up my tune on the desktop now that I'm back in the office. I'm on a MSLabs MS3-Basic as well.

Menu is slightly different than Jeff's but settings are the same.

Jeff, you know you have sequential turned off, right?

Apparently I did not...hmm, I have it wired for sequential and had no problems with it in the past and my tuner didn't comment on the lack thereof. Not saying you are wrong at all Pat, so

How can it be sequential if it's 2 squirts/cycle? That would not be sequential then, it would be batch. Right? Sequential = 1 squirt/cycle, batch = 2 or more squirts/cycle. That's how I've always understood it.

<p>From the megamanual:</p><p>

</p><p><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Injector Staging - simultaneous fires all injectors each injection event, alternating fires only half the injectors on one injection event, then the other half on the next event.</span></p><p id="70">
</p><p>How MegaSquirt(R) EFI Controllers Work</p><p>To me that says that injector staging is only relevant in batch fire.</p>

patsmx5 06-23-2015 09:23 PM

Aidan- I've tried switching between 1 and 2 on my car, and my air/fuel ratio changes. My ECU is currently at DIY Autotune for repair right now or I'd go test this and post a datalog. But this lead me to believe it did affect fueling. I'm no expert though, just what I've seen/thought I understood!

aidandj 06-23-2015 09:24 PM

<p>I'm no expert either. And I'm too lazy to go test it. I'm just reading tool tips. Maybe <span>@Ben or <span>@Braineack can chip in.</span></span></p>

DNMakinson 06-23-2015 09:36 PM

Not that I understand the logic, but pretty sure the manual is correct.

Note the right column, "Fully Sequential".

They just use really confusing wording on it via the tooltip as it seems both do the same thing.

woops looks like several posts have happened since my email notified me! Everyone already addressed this.

<p>Pretty much a given on a small open source project like this. Most engineers != good writers. And documentation is rarely at the same level that the code is.</p>

aidandj 06-23-2015 09:53 PM

<p>Also jeff are you still using windows 98 or something...</p>

Tunerstudio does not play nicely on my Macbook Air, or I should specify OSX. So I run a very stripped down version of Windows XP in Parallels Desktop so that I can use OSX and XP at the same time.

Works great and no need for fancy features or UI.

aidandj 06-23-2015 10:06 PM

<p>Struggles. I run it native on osx. But there are a bunch of weird bugs</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

EO2K 06-23-2015 11:32 PM

Take your filthy bourgeoisie OSX and chilled white wine elsewhere, we run Windows and drink brown liquor around here.

aidandj 06-23-2015 11:33 PM

<p>Last time I formatted my system since switching to OSX.......never. Computer still boots in under 10 seconds and is just as fast as it was the day I bought it. Windows can suck a fat cock.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Oh and its ugly too.</p>
