There's a lot more to running that kind of rpm on a BP, you're gonna want better and stiffer valve springs than super tech, and better valves. My car valve lash closed up about 0.0005"/minute of time over 7500. I never took the head off to figure out why, I assume it was the valve deforming. Intake manifold studs breaks even with a brace, might make sense to try going to a bigger diameter while you have the head out. There's a reason I decided to motor swap.
Which viscocity? The 20W-50 Synthetic VR1?

EDIT: Any recommendation for better valve springs and valves? I haven't had valve lash problems before, but I always setup the seats wider than normal.

that's going to depend on your engine build. I used 10w30.

Well, I got a bit done today, but not as much as I'd hoped. Got he V-band welded onto the downpipe. Then made 3 more pieces that are cut, fit, and welded together that run from that spot, to the rear of the car just in front of the diff. Those parts are welded too. V band is done welded, other two spots have root passes but not the cap.

Next step is to cut the last pipe going to the rear to length, then keep going to go under and around the diff. That part will be a bit tricky as space is tight, but what's new?

Also, anyone have an opinion about this math about my turbo and setup?

BorgWarner MatchBot

If much of that is to be believed, I need a better intercooler!

Pics below!

You're probably bring a little optimistic with your pressure drop unless you're already running a huge intercooler. Like a 4" thick garret or bell or a 6" thick treadstone. Based on what fits in side flow in a miata mouth.

Update!

Been working on exhaust. Having a tough time but making a bit of progress.

There really isn't room between the diff and the rearmost subframe brace. So I ended up cutting the welds, and sliding that brace back a bit. That required opening up the hole the bolt goes in to offset it back a bit more. That moved it back some more and helped, but after looking at it, I'll probably do that one more time to buy some more space.

Also cut and welded another piece and kind of mocked it up. Like I said, space is tight so been trying to solve that.

Shot a few vides I'll upload to my youtube and post here. Going to film a few things and see if it goes anywhere.

Thanks!

There's a real possibility I'll have another compound setup of some type down the road. I like trying stuff and seeing what works. I can say from experience that if I did do another compound setup with turbos, the "small turbo" would be something with a 47mm ish inducer on the compressor so it spools fast, as that was the most fun the compound setup ever was.

Here's two videos going over the previous compound setups. I go over the different versions, problems, what worked best, and what I think the next steps would be if I continued to improve the setup.

First startup! This is just the muffler pushed on temporarily to see how it sounds.

I finally got the exhaust done today. It sounds fricken amazing! At revs it sounds insane. I have a few clips, I'm going to make a video to post tonight. But OMG it's sweet. Idle is great, high revs it great, it looks good. I'm really happy and proud of how the exhaust turned out!
