Yeah, it really wasn't bad though. I mean, if I had to do it again I could do it in less than 2 hours. I still have more to do though. I guess I need to start searching for my passenger rear ABS upright. And G, I'll probably buy that upright back from you too if you want me to, or I can find another probably without too much trouble.

.... did you already remove that broken tie rod end?

Good call. I did not spray the first few and they were an absolute pain to get out. I have a feeling that's what contributed to the clamp bending. I did spray the rest before finishing for the night so we'll see how those go.

Hopefully soon I can hear the Xidas shipped and put it all together again.

Sure! PM me here or poke me on the facebook, or email, or text... I seem to think we traded all of these things at one point or another I have not removed the tie rod end but I believe I may have repacked the hub? I repacked one of my spares before I blew out my ankle but I cannot remember which one I did. Its been a bit since I've been able to seriously poke around in the garage.

Ha. No worries. OK I'll PM you when I have money or something. I'm likely going to make those purchases in May.

Ordered the rear ABS upright today, found a good price on eBay.

Also: DAMMIT.

I should have bought this.

Front Big Brake Kit - V8 Roadsters

Dynapro calipers and proprietary hat for the SAME price as I paid for my 949 kit ($759). Also, now I look at 949's site and the price has dropped to $685 for the kit I just paid $759 for two months ago.

Dammit.

Not offered in red don't care

I would shoot Emilio an email, especially if you haven't even installed it.

I mean, technically with club orange I got 5% off. Maybe I will. I'm really bummed that I could have had Dynapro's and no need for spacers for the same money though.

I thought I researched it like crazy but I guess not :(

G, yup I'll buy it back from you unless you want to keep it. I don't mind searching elsewhere if you want to keep the one, but I'd be happy to buy that one back from you. I need to wait til the end of the month and I'll get you the dinero.

Do the V8R not need spacer?

Nope. They use a proprietary hat that doesn't need it. That's what TSE is going to do when they re-do it.

I'm happy to give 949 the business, it's just a bum deal for me that I paid the higher price. I sent him an email, we'll see what he does. I can understand him not doing anything since I paid the full price willingly before, but it does suck a bit much. I'd about consider returning them to go with the V8R ones at this point since mine have not been installed, but it's been about 30 days since I received them which means technically they're not eligible for returns. Oi.

I thought the 949 an V8R 11.75" use the same hat? Did V8R recently update what they were using?

I don't know how recently.

Front Big Brake Kit - V8 Roadsters

These two posts in OGRacing's brake thread is what alerted me to it.

I guess I should have read that thread more carefully before I placed my order :( Dynapros and no spacers for the same price! Oi.

Too much fuss over nothing. Any of the 11.75" kits is good brakes. Get your damn car on the road and onto a closed course.

For what it's worth I am not running spacers any longer with my 9" 6UL's. I, umm, forgot the last track day, and they clear fine.

Haven't investigated the 8" 6UL's yet.

IIRC, the TSE 11.75s will clear without the spacer when it's just sitting around, but the clearance is less than what the wheel/etc deflect during hard cornering.

Yep. Everything spins nice and smooth at a stop, and then your calipers have little rub marks after session 1.

Luckily he didn't do anything crazy fast with his rubbing exhaust, Mobius should be fine.

Ed, get a proper set of dual duty wheels and tires, and you won't have to take them off often. Install the wheels once, and move on. Maybe scribe something like "SPCR?" on the hat, so you know you're missing something if you see it.

You need to spend your energy worrying about something more important. I think the biggest hangup on this build is going to be the MegaSquirt. Your chassis, suspension, etc, should fall together fairly easily.

When you're ready to tow everything to CSTG to get it running, let me know
