I have been seeing a lot of this sort of thing the past day or two:
I don't really understand the source of the amusement. To me, it's logically consistent.
From the point of view of a Liberal, rules apply to other people, because only other people are "bad people."
The whole point of "tax the rich" is so that normal folks, such as AOC's millionaire and tax-cheat dress designer, don't have to. "The Rich" are, by definition, someone else.

RIP Angelo Codevilla
A long-time old-fashioned conservative thinker and writer, I only found out about him recently, he died yesterday. Basically, he had little really good to say about either side of the aisle - both are morally bankrupt.
An excerpt from a recent article -
“…….left to themselves, Americans use land inefficiently in suburbs and exurbs, making it necessary to use energy to transport them to jobs and shopping. Americans drive big cars, eat lots of meat as well as other unhealthy things, and go to the doctor whenever they feel like it. Americans think it justice to spend the money they earn to satisfy their private desires even though the ruling class knows that justice lies in improving the community and the planet. The ruling class knows that Americans must learn to live more densely and close to work, that they must drive smaller cars and change their lives to use less energy, that their dietary habits must improve, that they must accept limits in how much medical care they get, that they must divert more of their money to support people, cultural enterprises, and plans for the planet that the ruling class deems worthier. So, ever-greater taxes and intrusive regulations are the main wrenches by which the American people can be improved (and, yes, by which the ruling class feeds and grows).”

Pfizer is recalling ALL stocks of its popular anti-smoking drug Chantix after it was found to contain high levels of chemical that can cause cancer
- Pfizer has voluntarily recalled 12 lots of its anti-smoking drug Chantix for containing high levels of cancer-causing agents called nitrosamines
- According to a notice posted on the FDA's website 'the presence of a nitrosamine, N-nitroso-varenicline (NDMA)' was above acceptable intake
- 'The health benefits of stopping smoking outweigh the cancer risk from the nitrosamine impurity in varenicline,' the FDA said in an update
- Chantix is a pill the FDA approved in 2006 to help people quit smoking
