It's nice that this raid happened within a day or two of the Democratic-controlled Congress to add 87,000 IRS agents. If they can do this to an x-president, certainly we will all be getting an ---- probe by the IRS soon.
The goal is fear and intimidation.

"Middle of the night" is clearly metaphorical, but a) to bring machine guns to a president's residence and b) if Trump is already cooperating then at worst you need a subpoena, right?
It's nice that this raid happened within a day or two of the Democratic-controlled Congress to add 87,000 IRS agents. If they can do this to an x-president, certainly we will all be getting an ---- probe by the IRS soon.
The goal is fear and intimidation.

The FBI claims the raid was related to a previous mishandled classified information issue, yes. But he handed boxes back to the National Archives in January where the National Archives then referred the case to the DOJ to investigate. I'm trying to figure out what probable cause they lied about to get this warrant. oh wait, im sure they just changed the definition of probable cause on us again.

Republicans put up a counter-proposal for the bill that said the new IRS workers would only audit people with incomes over $400k. Dems said no. Of course when the Republicans take over the Congress in November they can neglect to appropriate funds for the IRS. And the FBI.

If they do, then it is doubtful that they will neglect to fund the IRS and the FBI. I would like to see this happen, but Democrats and Republicans are not generally in the habit of not funding things.
