I have often been against socialized medicine and use my conspiracy theory of social security as a reason. It’s a conflict of interest. I believe that our health care system is tailored to limit our life expectancy to profit from SS. If you gave someone 16% of your life’s earning and they had to incrementally give it back once you retired, don’t you think they would want you to kick the bucket asap?

It is rather telling, I think, to browse through this thread and note just how much of it consists of argument which falls neatly along the party line script. Orange Man Good, Brown Woman Bad, etc. You can basically read the thread in reverse all the way back to Clinton, and the only things which change are the names of the politicians and the specific perceived crisis which we are meant to be outraged by.
This demonstrates how the political system is, for the most part, functioning exactly as designed. So long as a sufficient majority of the people are convinced that Candidate A represents what is good and necessary, in contrast to Candidate B who is a danger to our country and must be stopped, they will fail to notice how effectively they are being distracted and manipulated.

Like, certainly all the stories of the government and FEMA interfering in relief efforts by private citizens are baseless and there's a perfectly good explanation for this, alleged, military helicopter prop-washing the **** out of a non-government sanctioned supply gathering.
