But that's not what happened -- The gov't now owns a 10% stake in Intel after investing billions. It's an investment and government is one investor among others.
Lately, it's becoming difficult to tell which thing is intended to be a distraction from another.
I can remember, for instance, when the prevailing sentiment in this thread was that it would be a good thing for Epstein's associate / client list to be made public, and criminal prosecutions made against those who participated in his "political-favors-for-sex-with-children" program.

10% is not a controlling share.
Biden gave Intel $11 Billion in 2022 with nothing in return with the CHIPS act. IIRC, we have given Intel a total of about $40 billion now and they were supposed to build fabs here, however TSMC is manufacturing Intel's latest (shitty) chips.
Trump was able to get 10% of shares back in return -- I'm sure after threatening to sue or invoke some law/act.
In an era of computerization when access to computers is life or death on a national/military level, ensuring your economy maintains access to the chips it will need (and insuring they cant be backdoored) is a prudent course of action. Do they deserve the bailout? No. But do we want their fabs on US soil? Absolutely.
What would happen if China took control of Taiwan? Spinning up new fabs from scratch is difficult, China has some capacity, but has still lost over 100 billion and over a decade on trying to expand others.
We rely heavily on China for critical goods like medical supplies. During COVID, they cut shipments and we were caught off guard. Not much has changed since, and that’s a national security risk.
Military tech should never be made in China. We need backup supply chains inside the U.S., with some running and more ready to scale quickly in case of war or crisis. Relying entirely on China would be like trusting them to store our weapons.
China manipulates markets, exploits cheap labor, and plays a long game to gain leverage. The free market alone can’t protect us from that, it takes government to keep us secure, just like the Soviets survived Hitler in WWII by keeping their own factories running.
This is the video manifesto of Robin Westman, the trans-man who went on a shooting spree this morning at the Catholic school in Minneapolis today before killing herself.

Or is this another violent transgender mentally ill liberal?
or both?
I forgot to add the context.
That is the video manifesto of Robin Westman, the 22 or 23 year old mentally ill trans-man who went on a shooting spree this morning at the Catholic school in Minneapolis today before killing herself.
She left a lot of anti-Trump, anti-Jew and anti-Christian rhetoric behind.
Interestingly, I just happened to notice this written on one of the guns she used to shoot approximately 20 children:
Vicki Weaver, of course, was the wife of Randy Weaver, famously associated with the US Gov't raid / standoff / execution in Ruby Ridge Idaho in 1992. The Weaver family were Christians who moved to the hills of Idaho to live off-grid, and were entrapped by the Federal government in order to be used as pawns in their quest to infiltrate a church frequented by members of the Aryan Nations.
Vicki was fatally shot by FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi as she stood in the doorway of her own home with her 10 month old daughter in her arms on Aug 22, 1992, one day after her son Samuel was shot in the back and killed by Deputy US Marshal Larry Cooper.
