Going back to p-nut the squirrel, there are new images that just came out showing the raid:
"One of the beauties of television is that it shows exactly what the facts are," Reno said. "And as I understand it, if you look at it carefully, it shows that the gun was pointed to the side, and that the finger was not on the trigger." Ok, Janet, that fixes everything. Also, maybe it was a bad idea putting her in charge in Waco right after watching the original Die Hard for the first time. Janet Reno and Gov't excessive use of force. Fun times. Too bad not a single American stood in front of that tank.
Elections definitely have consequences. Trump has already made a no-nonsense statement about trans surgeries for children, and how he's going after the doctors and the big hospitals that push this garbage.
--DEI is DED
--He's seriously floating ending the Federal Income Tax, and there's a real pathway to doing it. If this happens, the economy will catch fire.
--Thomas Massie has already been selected for Secretary of Agriculture, and he's already spoken to a guru regarding safe, sustainable farming without Monsanto poison sprinkled on everything
--RFK Jr. is already talking about removing entire sections of the FDA (the "nutrition" division, for one) as they keep trying to tell us that Froot Loops are healthier than eggs
--Russia is ready for peace talks
--Hamas has asked for a cease fire and an end to the war
--the stock market jumped 1,500 points yesterday...not bad
--Elon Musk is on "X" literally listing all the waste, fraud, abuse and no-bid contracts that happen in government every day. That ****'s gotta stop.
--Oh, and ugly women all over America are promising that they won't have sex with any men for the next four years...WINNING!!!

This is not specifically a response to Hector, more of a general observation:
It is fascinating that you selected that specific image as a proxy for violent overreach of government as a whole.
I am certain that Hector knows, though some here may not, that this photo is from April 22, 2000, showing Federal agents raiding the home of Lázaro González, a naturalized US citizen of Cuban origin.
The boy at the right is six year old Elián González, one of only three people who survived the sinking of a small boat which they had taken from Cuba to the coast of Florida near Miami. The younger González, of course, was thus an illegal immigrant, and after a protracted legal battle, he was expelled from the US and sent back to Cuba to live with his father Juan Miguel González, who had not accompanied his ex-wife on the trip. (His mother was one of the eleven people who died in the sinking, from which no bodies were ever recovered.)
One of the major campaign platforms espoused by now-President-elect Trump over the past year has been mass deportations. Broadly speaking, that seems to be a popular sentiment amongst right-leaning audiences, which includes most of us here at KittyTurbo.net.
The above photo is of a deportation in progress. That's what we can continue to expect in the months to come, once Trump once again takes his rightful place upon the throne.

Actually, Elian had been granted temporary residence by the US at the time. This image isn’t really a deportation so much as fulfillment of a court order restoring parental control to his father, back in Cuba. Elian’s relatives in Florida refused to comply, and so brought down the heavy hand of the gummint. Maybe kind of a distinction without a difference in terms of the raid, but the Justice Department’s work, not INS.
I know that you’re a generation removed. Would your folks be kindly disposed toward the people who are, effectively, getting help in breaking the laws that they obeyed?
I have a number of friends and former co-workers who came in the front door and became US citizens, some from Brazil, the Islands, old Soviet states, Central America. They all almost make Trump sound like Mother Teresa when it comes to illegal immigrants. They get genuinely angry that the illegals have been allowed in and get to stay - and it’s not just a couple, it’s all of them.

Yep, this is the more correct of the two versions, although at the time there was a specific policy for Cubans (Wet foot, dry foot policy). It was custody, not asylum that drove the decision. The decision would have been different had he been older. What we've seen on the border is the wholesale misuse of immigrants coming in and declaring themselves "political asylum seekers", when the truth is 99% are economic asylees. Answer the questions correctly and you too could get a debit card with $5k on it and free airfare to cities all over America, and potentially even your own place once you arrived...free for two years! If you're a Haitian in Ohio, all you need are a few of the neighbor's cats to celebrate!

Hopefully not all deportees will be looking down the barrel of a MP5. Oh I forgot, the barrel was off to the side and the finger was not on the trigger so this is perfectly fine.
I post this as I chomp on Doritos. Well let's see what comes of his steps to MAHA and I will quit eating poisonous junk food or better yet, he'll get the poison banned from getting in my Doritos.
One of the higher economic burdens on a nation is the cost of incarceration of criminals. It appears that countries in the south have decided it is an option to force them into adjacent countries to pass on that burden. I’m not sure we should worried too much about the illegal immigrants. Yes there will be some that in general are good people that should be treated more fairly, but this will send a message that will be a deterrent.
It is unfortunate that many that come here are a mixture of good and bad. The bad hurt our nation and the good hurt the nation they try to leave.

My father and his brothers were actually quite outspoken on that matter. At least, outspoken relative to their generally hesitant attitude towards discussing matters related to the revolution and exodus in general. It is known that they sent their mother to NY and remained behind to participate in counter-revolutionary activities, making the decision to depart the island only after their father and a close family friend were summarily executed after being discovered hoarding weapons brought into Cuba via their business ties within the textile manufacturing industry.
The last of the Perezes, Sonia and Pépito, came to the US in 1980 via the Port of Mariel. No other members of the direct lineage of José III are known to have remained alive in Cuba after that.
No Perez ever departed Cuba in a flimsy, ramshackle raft, nor evaded customs and immigration upon their arrival. Each of them became naturalized citizens via the customary, legal channels which were available to them at the time.
This was a source of great pride for them. And they spoke in derisive terms of those who did otherwise, because they considered such action to be without dignity.

you forgot your normal sign off of saying something like “but you already think I’m a liberal shill”
