because your precious gov't forced them to treat people without insurance, with no way of paying for services, and people the gov't actually insures but then doesn't pay for services rendered, so they had to make up for it elsewhere.

I think it's about time for my post "Why you should petition your gov't for free MS3x's from Braineack"

I'm not suggesting it, it's a fact. They use loopholes and other workarounds to pay lower taxes or no taxes.

The average for the top 1% is about 3% of taxes paid for their income while the rest of us are paying 25%.

So that is a tax code problem. Not a "hi I am triple88a and I want to whine about people that have more money that me" problem.

Or is it both?

Ignorant of what?

I have been on this forum for years. I don't post much. You have consistently whined, for years, about people that have more money than you. Giving more power to the government never works and definitely doesn't result in the super rich ever paying "their share" of taxes.

I have consistently whined? Other than in this thread I never posted anything about money. That said, if pointing it out that the rich get away with not paying their taxes is whining then so be it.

So the tax code needs to be fixed. I went back a few pages and I agree that churches should have to pay taxes. Churches are run like businesses these days, so they should pay taxes. Taxes should be flat across the board. No deductions or blah blah blah. That is incredibly more simple and easier to enforce.

I hear numbers like that get thrown around a lot, but I've never seen any data to substantiate them.

A person earning $700k in the US is right at the threshold of 1%. If they paid 3% in taxes, that's be $21k, which is several thousand dollars less than I pay on an income of $125k.

This isn't mathematically plausible. If you don't believe me, just look at form 1040 and the related tax computation worksheet.

Multiple sources have gone through the tax numbers and calculated how much taxes are paid and then averaged for that top 1% group. The top 1% pays 3% of their income taxes when they should be paying ~35% based on the current tax. The reason behind this is as i pointed out earlier, loopholes, bailouts, tax breaks, and fraud. Thats one reason why i'm against trump and hillary. They both want to keep certain loopholes in.

Then you should have no problem providing a couple of citations to support your claim.

Search through google for the 2015 tax records and you'll find the links. I do remember one of them had links to the gov sites where you can see the tax records and look over their numbers. Multiple articles also include companies as well so keep an eye on that.

Ok, I just used Google to search for the 2015 tax records. They indicate that everyone with an income of $700k or more is paying 25% or more in Federal income tax.

If you don't believe me, Google it.

Americans for Tax Fairness » Fact Sheet: Taxing Wealthy Americans

Also look up Mitt romneys tax rates. Tax code says he should pay 35%, he pays less than 15%.

Wall street is also filled with these issues.

Exxon mobil paid 0 last year.

But I'm sure *you* love tax deductions yourself.

Mott Romney was just following the law.
