And with Tims car I would expect him to blow up the T5s before the diff.

I have nothing to say about the J.

Even still, with as many tranny's bundy has gone through he hasnt popped the diff or at least in a while. We break axles when launching the auto-x cars, even at stock power but not enough to consider it a big deal. To add onto that most of the LSx swap people are whine and cheezers I doubt any of them would even pop a normal 1.8 diff and axles never mind the MSM setup with ARP studs on the bearing caps and a crush sleeve eliminator.
And with Tims car I would expect him to blow up the T5s before the diff.

Are not these diffs similar to the S2000 diffs and where yes, you can try aftermarket bearing caps and that crush sleeve eliminator, by that guy that's doing miataroadster's 3.3 diff builds. Puddy Mod Racing I think.
I think Sav broke a diff on Thesus. He had a good write up on his theories behind it's destruction.
I expect my new T5z to outlast the diff just from youtube videos of foxbodies launching at the strip. I expect the trans and the diff to outlast the car. ****, I probably jinxed myself and will break both on my drive home. ~12psi at the moment running my boost control as open loop dummy bleeder single port style. I'm actually stopping by mcmaster on the way home to pick up some T fittings to plumb the EWG for proper 2 port closed loop operation, then i'll see how slowly it still spools.
205/45/16 GForce sports are my drivetrain fuse.

Over on k20a.org, you can pretty well find the recipes for 300 NA WHP K24s. And those recipes basically consist of the following ingredients:
Pistons, rods, bearings, fasteners, oil pump, Kpro, K24a2 head or similar, intake, header, 3" exhaust, cams, springs, retainers, injectors, lifters,......
Those 4 pistons guys have a ~370WHP NA K24 designed to handle road racing and endurance abuse IIRC. Its psychotic.
So yeah, the K is pretty fuggin sweet. But like any other engine the cheap power only goes so far. A 300WHP K is mostly aftermarket parts. (Edit: Or a bunch of Honda parts you did not get with the original engine and swapped in.. Its just that with a K you can basically add 100 WHP or more for most prep levels relative to a BP with basically no weight penalty. And it will probably last longer at those levels than an equivalent BP from what my internet racing has seen.

I agree with that. It has a nice aftermarket and is a very flexible platform. Good power can be made without extraordinary measures.
I would rather build a k than mess with that j motor for sure. TBH I'd rather go F, change some head studs and boost the **** out of it with a 6758. But I'm pretty sure we've had the f or k convo before.

With that logic we should see 300hp na k series all over the place. They aren't a dime a dozen for a reason. People turbo them to get that power for a reason. It's not like you can just bolt on an exhaust and get 100hp. They are stock like ~205 at the crank.
I have nothing to say about the J.
v8 sounds > v6 sounds

And these days 300whp setups are pretty much dime a dozen if you cruise around on k20a.org for a while.
That all being said, I still think the J is cool. Not sure how good of a road race application it will be for the Miata, but I'm sure it will be the solution for some people.
Anyone know about the steering rack situation with this swap?

Kit is now available, and in my opinion, not badly priced
If their information is to be considered true, then a 40 pounds weight gain for 100+ n/a Whp and 150+ wtq would easily convince me to consider this. I mean ****, that's about what a stupid light turbo kit ends up weighing in at, and I'm a huge n/a fanboi! (And although not a huge Honda fan, Goddammit they can make some Damn engines!)

That whole kit looks straight out of china. The exhaust, clutch, flywheel, and motor mounts are Chinese sure.
Ive personally seen those eBay motor mounts all sorts of swapped Hondas, most of which are cracked or broken. And these are street cars.
Also what is up with the welding on the oil pan and subframe. Looks dodgey.
I feel bad for the immense heartbreak experienced by anybody who buys this kit with expectations of being fast or reliable.
The best this kit could do is be on the cover of Honda Tuning where the readers are dumb enough to think the J series is something to be excited for.
EDIT:
Also, some pro photoshop going on here.
This kit is obviously ready to be shipped.
