too busy making it work to take photos of it. Car's on a sleepover tonight at the fab shop, getting the exhaust finished and bungs welded into the new IC pipes. If all goes well tomorrow, though, I'll have dyno numbers at wastegate pressure.
What are your thoughts on spool compared to the old setup? You seem to have absolutely no trouble getting the 2871 spooled in an instant.
What is the wastegate spring?
Btw, I have a hard-on. A hard-on so intense that it could flip over a small vehicle or a large moose and possibly kill Vin Diesel.

Wastegate spring is 15psi. The ultimate onset is going to be at a higher RPM, but that comes with the territory; it's a much larger turbo than the 2554 I've grown used to. What surprised me was that the car is actualy relatively easy to drive. I never felt like I planted my foot and waited for the turbo to catch up; I would pick up the throttle at the apex and begin to roll in and the boost would come up with me, which was nice. The power comes in pretty smoothly. Granted, there is a lot of power, so when it comes in you get a big kick in the rump, but it's certainly not a lightswitch turbo. Hustler convinced me to do the .86 A/R turbine housing, and my main concern was response, although I'm far less worried about it now than I was this morning.
I don't want to comment on wastegate performance, etc. until I get the car tuned and out on a road course to really flog it. I have high hopes, though.

Great ****. I really appreciate you secretly building my car for me and pretending it was yours. I'm waiting for the delivery.
And how could you let a Porsche beat you by .2!?

Patiently awaiting manly driving on a road course.
It doesn't appear that the new setup has any problem with response. After you rip down the back straight then downshift to 2nd, you make the turn and then hellooooo rev limiter!

First of all, the marina autocross has the goddamn widest lanes I've ever seen. I think that's where I saw the giant Class A motorhome do a lap.
Second of all, please do something about your spaghetti dash.

lmao, that was really annoying me also.

Same here...I'd love a Tial housing for the GT25xx turbine. I'm gonna look into machining the factory cast piece into tial's vband size, but even then it wouldn't be pretty stainless.

But very nice heel-towing there Andrew.

Welcome to the world of torque. I can't wait to bolt my **** on. I think I have one day to get the intercooler pipe fabbed, tuned, then show up to a track event 5-hours away. lol
What, all this work and you can't afford to spend 30 minutes inside with a bunch of zip ties? Were not asking for the moon here sav, just for the rest of the car to look as good as the wheels and manifold!
Btw I dunno if I already told you this, but that insulated carpet on the transmission tunnel did wonders, I stayed surprisingly cool at ORP in 100* weather, tape some in there

Not just the wiring that's a mess. The front bumper is flat-blacked, the splitter is starting to show wood, there are no headlight lids, the hardtop looks a little rough, and there's no rear bumper of any kind. It's in a development phase, where I want to focus on going fast, consistently. I'll make it pretty this winter. (re-painting the interior, cage, general cleanup/aesthetics)
Word of advice: If you use pink, green, blue, red, orange, and yellow zip ties, you'll get **** for it from everyone who looks at your car. :-)
Can't wait to get some spool data. Tires seem ok too, and yes... very wide lanes.

How the hell do you work on your car so damn fast? You just started tearing it apart and now you are already tuning. Given you have the advantage of being 16 and still having lots of energy.
You make me second guess my .64 turbine on my 2860rs. Then again, I really don't need anymore than 325-350hp. Learning to drive it well is much more important.
