My first computer class was basic on TRS-80. It was larger than a household cat (because integrated crt?). Wrote an ATM app in BASIC that managed an account balance. Backed up our work to audio cassette.

An e-Machine purchased from QVC by my aunt is still, to this day, the only computer I've seen die a fiery death due to internal hardware failure.
