I used the phrase, and wondered, "Where in the world did that idiom come from?" I still don't know it had previous history, but that is where I got it, I'm sure.

Tried to find a pic of old lady in combat boots. Got **** instead. I don't do ****, so you get this:

Never been a golf fan but this is something I've wanted to do for a rather long time.

Funny idea. But why not get rid of the jet engine nozzle if you're going to do it that way? You taper down at the nozzle just to expand back up at the turbo turbine inlet (just to taper again inside the turbine scroll),

You can get those little jet engines with a power take off turbine already too. Attach compressor wheel & cover to that. Axial turbine better than radial, no? Exhaust ducting may be more hassle.

its like the inverse those early Jet engines that used a piston engine to drive the compressor.

I like where this dudes head is at... but how does it work? I mean... wastegate and BOV type stuff. For drag applications, sounds pretty awesome... but on the street, the lag would kill you, and every time you lifted your foot off the gas, you'd get some mad surge and/or blow all the intake piping off. I mean... I know how it works, but how does it work?

It's also the inverse of sound engineering practice.

Has anyone ever priced an RC gas turbine? They don't last long either. Seems retarded to me, unless a drag only vehicle, even then tho...

There are better ways to make a gas generator, but they're probably not off the shelf.

Every gasoline-powered car manufactured in the last 100 years comes with one as standard equipment.

Would one of you gentleman kindly clue me in on what, exactly, I'm looking at?

I'm confused.

The red thing is a jet engine. A tiny one, like the sort used in model airplanes.

Its exhaust is being used to spin the turbine of a turbocharger, instead of the exhaust of the main piston engine.

This is a dumb idea.
