my wife picked me up a sixer of the newly-brought-east New Belgium 1554 black ale.
Pretty delish. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/...a9a2bc9854.jpg |

Do you remember what you paid for that unibroue variety pack? I just saw it today at the local distributor...can't remember the price though.

LOL. That photo says, "I don't always drink Dos Equis, but when I do, I have 7 other way better beers on standby."

My parents know me too well. Birthday gift:

All that amazing stuff and they throw in a Heineken? That stuff tastes like lawn clippings fermented in piss.

Meh...I'm not down with the Blithering Idiot. It's a barley wine...not my bag, baby. I like their (Weyerbacker) Double Simcoe IPA a lot. They make a decent stout too called "old heathen".

I ended up with a Golden Monkey and a Founders Dirty B4stard. The place had over 225 bottled beers and 50+ on tap. Was overwhelming for a quick visit.

1. on draft: Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye.
OMG. This is a delicious hoppy beer with a super long malty finish. I could have had 10... and yes, it's brewed with rye. 2. on cask: Re Ale Extra. Hard to follow #1 but this had a great smell and much milder hop flavor. had some interesting spice notes but wasn't overwhelming. I guess it's a saison? #2 was probably the best italian beer I've ever had. which is not saying much when you consider peroni and birra moretti. I'm gonna say it here: just about every non-beer country (you know: the ones that aren't germany, belgium, usa, GB, Czech, etc.) has what I like to call a "shitty foreign beer". vaguely lagery, fizzy, skunky and mediocre by any measure. I'm talking your japanese, italian, french, and the like. I still can't believe we found an awesome microbrew in Bali, Indonesia. |

How was the Founders? It's one of the few that I actually have shipped out to me.

Just had my second one of these. Not in a row though, that would knock me on the floor. |

I will be in ST. Louis this week.
I will most likely be checking out this place: http://www.ciceros-stl.com/weekly-draft-beers Let me know if there is anything on the draft list that you guys HIGHLY recommend, or if anybody from the St. Louis area would like to stop out and drink a beer, on me. I'll probably try the Unibroue Terrible, I've had Trois Pistoles and loved it...but never had the Terrible. Also never had Shiner Bock which I've only heard about on this forum. I'll probably have Bell's Hopslam or Southern Tier UnEarthly, cause I like that stuff. I might try (cause I've never had) Schlafly Coffee Stout, and Left Hand Milk Stout. |

Left Hand Milk Stout is pretty tasty, give it a try for sure.
Drinking Upslope Brown Ale tonight, from Boulder. Yummy, smooth, malty, hardly any hop bite, goes down waaaaay too easily lol. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1329717727 |
