I stay asleep.
Verified by many.
I always wake up when I need to, but I can somehow tune nearly every external stimuli out.
The only time this was not true was during a man overboard drill on a ship.
Out of the several thousand people on the ship, the only one to sleep through the drill was a rescue swimmer.
In my defense, I had been up all night fighting actual pirates and the alarm was very quiet in our berthing.

10' tall windows from wall-to-wall and all the street lighting.....it was nearly impossible to sleep without one.
So i'm redoing the wiring on my jeep. At this point i'm thinking of just running 30 amp toggle switches for stuff (headlights, wipers, radiator fan, etc) without bothering with relays. Is this a bad idea?

Using a double-pole switch for the headlights will allow you to spread the load across two contacts and improve switch life further.
Switch for the radiator fan sounds like it'd get old fast.
For the radiator i'll wire it up directly so its on whenever the engine is running but eventually i'll get a proper auto on/off thing.
30 amp switches should be plenty for just about everything though wouldnt they?

It amazes me, the number of people I meet and work with who both A: make a living almost exclusively through the use of a computer, and B: are completely inept at using that device. If you want to make a decent living, then learn to type, learn to use a mouse, learn shortcut keys (for crying out loud!), learn how to use common productivity applications, learn how to use the internet (there's more to it than a lot of people think), and learn how to Google the solution to your problems. Most importantly, for every program that you use, learn how to use it exceptionally well. Someone who EXCELS at using a program can work between 2 and 20 times as fast as someone who simply CAN use a program. Additionally, the reduction in IT assets required by a company that employs capable computer users makes you even more valuable. I can forgive those that are in the last ten percent or so of their working years, but I shouldn't have to show someone my age how to use Google maps, how to select a bunch of files at once by dragging a box around them, or what ctrl-a, ctrl-c, and ctrl-v do. I'll leave off with this: if you are still right-clicking with your mouse to copy and paste, you are my target audience. /rant

I gotta say, it makes me feel like a Real Man when my wife is stuck doing something in excel for work and I give her a 5 step process to do some complicated thing-or-other and she gets that air of zen relief. And she is a smart and clever woman with a lot of pride, so it's not something that happens often.

I'm no master EXCELerometer but I'm frustrated by people who send spreadsheets to me with really crappy formulas (ex: A5+A6+A7+A8+A9+A10 instead of sum(A5:A10). I hate having to fix a bunch of things before I can use the spreadsheet by actually changing data. Inevitably 1 in 3 of the spreadsheets I receive that are done that way have left out one of the cells integral to the computation.
Now what are these shortcut keys you speak of? lol

Sounds like they need me in there running the Maintenance department.
Fermi 2 nuclear plant to remain down for some time
The Fermi 2 nuclear power plant will remain shut down for an unspecified time after a cooling system on the plant's turbine and related equipment failed Sunday.
DTE Energy spokesman Guy Cerullo said Tuesday that the utility is using the downtime to do other maintenance work at the nuclear facility on the shore of western Lake Erie in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township. DTE won't disclose when the plant will go back online because the utility said it is trying to avoid potential spikes in the cost of power if it has to make purchases on the wholesale energy market while its plant is down, Cerullo said.
