The quality of the leather doesn't matter; naked, sweaty flesh sticks to it all just the same.

I am going to do some frame clean up on my govt motors pickup. Some rusty spots need a little wire wheel and paint. Is the eastwood rust encapsulator good for stopping new rust formation or is there a better product for that?

Por15.

I've been slowly bumping my alarm clock up. Finally made it into work today at 7. Which means I don't feel bad about leaving at 3.

Its the best of both worlds. I don't have anybody bothering me for 2 hours, so I can actually get my work done.

And I get to leave early and spend all afternoon playing with the dog in the sun, or working on my car.

I've been trying to get on the 6-3 or 7-4 shift since I started working here years ago. Our sales department runs on east coast time so there is definitely stuff to do, but its not as chaotic as you might think. Unfortunately the more "senior" guys have these timeslots on lockdown so I don't expect it'll be changing any time soon. At least this time of year there its still light for a few hours after I get off work.

The 9-6 shift is ******* murder. The extra hour of sleep does not make up for the fact that the entire world is essentially shut down for business by the time you get off work.

Luckily I get to set my own hours. So its just my own willpower vs my bed+sleeping gf.

I'm pretty excited to be able to do stuff in the afternoons again.

Like college all over again.

7-4 shifts are my bread & butter, gets me out of major traffic both ways to and from work. I go out too much during the week to do a 6-3 shift

I really don't have hours even. Just need to get work done. So if i'm super productive I can get a full days work in before lunch

Wouldn't that make it a half day's work?

10-6 schedule here. Would love to bump it earlier but as it is I often end up staying later to meet with customers.

I am not surprised Joe is the enlightened soul whom understands why leather furniture sucks.

Don't be naked?

And since it's easy to clean, who cares? I'd rather it not be absorbed into the cloth fabric

Since I am no longer a hormone overloaded teenager, this is not an issue. I have a large bed (with satin or fleece sheets as the season dictates) to do the nasty. Making out on the couch is uncomfortable and unnecessary.

I don't have mine scheduled for every Saturday evening at 11:30 after SNL.

Satin sheets?

Still disagree with you on the 'leather being the worst' thing.

Shitty leather, awful.

Imitation leather, even worse.

Leather in a convertible, terrible.

But high-quality soft leather on a quality, properly-cushioned couch in a 70* room is glorious.

I will second this. When my parents sold their house in 2005 or so the market was hot and so they sold for far more than they paid originally, leading them to think they had money. When furnishing the new house they splurged on a leather sofa for the living room. If I recall it was $5,000 or so. Basically my Dad thought it was $2,500 but it was really $2,500 per half. My mom was pissed (because $2,500 is a lot to spend, let a lone $5k) but once she sat on it she fell in love. It's literally the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on, and that holds true in the cold of winter and the heat of summer.

The real problem with leather couches is that kitties shred them. Kitties are more important than couches.

you know what cat's will not touch? velvet. seriously. We got a velvet chair for my son's room and the cat can't even get a claw grip on it.

meanwhile our nubby open weave couch downstairs? visible foam on the fronts of the arms.

bam!

My roommate has incredibly nice leather furniture he purchased when he was still married. A couch, loveseat and chair was some exorbitant amount of money.

My cheap microfiber/cloth stuff from Ashley is infinitely more comfortable.
