A decent intake for what car? Honestly on a miata unless you have a standalone and have removed the AFM/MAF intakes are not overly worth it.

 

What you want is a turbo as your intake. then it will truly produce hot air, so you'll need an intercooler too.

toss any ol pipe and filter on the front of that turbo and you'll be quite content.

 

Actually even a maf doesnt do much because the stock intake flows enough. Last time i ran a stock intake system i got 98kpa at wot... max for my local with the current calibration is 101 so 3kpa to be had? Yeah i wont be wasting my time. The only way to get power out of a miata intake is with cold air.

We've (Y8s and the staff) discussed hazing being inappropriate in Meet and Greet intro threads. That is where noobs are supposed to be, after all. If they are there, they are abiding by the rules. And remember that their intro thread is their thread in which to express themselves. However, if they are in the DIY turbo section asking "wich terbo iz best", proceed as usual.
