This is the sole reason I don't do crits or circuit races any more. In grinders and XC, my safety is largely in my hands. In crits, any crash you might be involved in is about 90% likely to be caused by someone else. Most times its just bad bike handling. Other times, like in that video, it is some 'roided up masters racer with something to prove that puts you into a kerb. This race was right around the corner from our shop. I train with these guys on a weekly basis. Everyone knows who the rider at fault was. Yah, it's unpardonable. I'm guessing he'll lose his racing license for a while and lose respect from the cycling community forever.
In my last two races I was against the curb or barrier and had to push people away as they rolled up and over on me. I'm not sure if I have another crit season in me, I definitely only have one more broken bone left in me. Now, in a CX race and at low speeds on grass, that's racing and that's why I love it. Thinking about ordering some tubulars.
Real question, is there a big benefit to tubulars over tubeless anymore? With road tires, it seems like tubeless are faster these days. Or is there something I'm missing specific to cyclocross tires?

Cannondale regional sales manager bro of mine had lunch with me today, told me about a local shop who sells Specialized is in "deep ****" with Specialized because there is a post somewhere on social media of the shop manager on a Cannondale. Unbelievable.
Group training ride last week. Guys says "nice bike, how much does it weigh?" I tell him, thanks, around 17 lbs even for my Cervelo S3 disc with Di2. I ask how much his 58cm Supersix Evo Hi Mod weighed.. "14 with these training wheels, 13.5 with my race wheels"
Holy Crap.
So now I'm seriously thinking about a "climbing" bike just for certain rides and events. Basically this but with D/A 9100 180mm cranks 52/36 with a Stage meter. Near as I can tell, it should weigh around 14.3lbs the way I would set it up.
Haven't pulled the trigger yet..

I think I'm still buying that double-purple CAAD12 though. Going to maybe leave it in Baton Rouge since I travel there so much now.

My early 2010's mechanical 56cm VanDessel is 15.3lbs. About to yank the light parts off and put them on my Tarmac, which should come in about 15.8lbs. I think. I keep going back and forth on it.

My list came down to
16+ Cannondale Supersix Evo
16+ Trek Emonda SLR
17' Cervelo R5
In the end, the Supersix has the fewest number of parts I'd have to swap out to suit me and was also the least expensive. Also, no dealers have the new R5 yet.
Local Trek store has a '16 Emonda SLR 10 in my size on closeout for $7499. Absurdly expensive but it was $13k just a year ago. But it is,, wait for it... 11lbs w/o pedals
