How is it possible that the cycling industry has five through-axle standards with little to no benefit over another and I have three duvet covers and two duvets, all which has the same fastener pattern in the corners and on the closure?
The level in the Enduro World Series is so high. You have to be a total rider. Back in the day, John Tomac was my hero. World Cup level cross-country and downhill rider.
I remember watching Tomac winning world cup downhills on his XC hardtail fitted with road bike drop handlebars. Went on a few weekday rides with him back in the day. dude was an animal.
TMWC this morning. Rolls out at 6:30. Very short loop, 21.4 miles, ~1900', just under an hour with several stop lights and a bike path section. Crux of the ride is an .8 mile climb at about 7% with the last 250' at about 10%.
(Tuesday Morning World Championships)
That's a pretty cool video, looks like a fun ride too. Your cannondale looks quick. That guy's videos led me to get a Virb. I haven't made any worthwhile videos with it though, but the data overlays are fun to see.

My coworker gave me the frame, so I'm going to make something smaller out of the tubes. Hopefully it will be a nice crit bike. 6061T6. I'll get creative with the post weld heat treat.

for the cost of a tube set, just buy some tubes from Nova Cycle Supply in 7005. ($100) and then you can properly artificially age it in a powdercoating oven... more available and cheaper than trying to do something with 6061. plus your working with tubes that are clean. you probably spent what... $10-15 on the paint stripper alone :P
oh, and to make it smaller, you will have to cut it down to basically just raw tubes anyways.
$6 for stripper so far. The rubber gloves, scotchbrite, & cardboard were free. I also like the shape of these tubes. With the exception of the seat tube, all are shaped along their entire length. Not as exaggerated as new aluminum frames, but shaped nonetheless. I haven't cut it apart to see if there's any butting. And we have more scrap 6061 for head tube/BB than, well we have zero 7005 scrap cause that doesn't exist outside bicycles. Yes you can buy 7005 head tubes and bottom brackets, but I want a specific shape and wall thickness to match the tubes I'm welding to, and I want it to match the tarmac head tube geo I'm copying, and use the integrated headset and fork I want. Easier to make what I want (for free) than pay for something that's a compromise. And I'm going to leave the seat & chain stays attached the the pretty windowed dropouts cause duh. That's the most critical weld anyway. There're things you can do to 6061 post weld that aren't as legit as full anneal/straighten/temper within 30 min but will work for this application.
homie gets up, signs some autographs, has a new bike built in 45 minutes, goes on to qualify 2nd (next run) to keep championship points lead going into finals tomorrow- winner takes all. This years' WC DH season has been nuts.
Well, I am going to deploy for Hurricane Harvey for a very, very long time and the first month or three will feature 12-hour days. I bought a CycleOps Hammer and I'm probably going to subscribe to Trainer Road. Here we go.
Baller trainer Trey. I'd like to try trainerroad to compare it to Zwift's built-in/expanding training routines. Let me know how it goes if you choose that route, or if you get an email with 'hey save xx if your buddies sign up'.
I have loved doing the Sufferfest, and their training plans, but I think the video selection is not quite as expansive as TrainerRoad. That being said, I have never gotten bored with it.
