Agreed! The safety engineering demonstrated there is nothing short of amazing. I think I heard that they were going upwards of 190mph at that point, and he basically came to a complete stop. Amazing that, 1) the crash fence could even hold a 3600lb. car at that speed, 2) that his car's safety cage held up so well, 3) that he just pops out and walks away, seeming without a scratch.

That video makes me wonder if I really should be looking at installing a taller gear so I can exceed my gear limited 143mph on Daytona last year. I was hoping to go faster this year but wonder how fast a Miata without a cage should go without any aero. At what speed does a stock profile Miata get "light"? My old '68 Pontiac felt 10ft wide and really front end light at 145.

The answer is obvious....you just need a big wing, front splitter, and a flat underbelly on the miata. It's the only logical solution.

A couple from last weeks track night. This was intermediate. It was obvious 50% of the drivers had never seen a track, they just thought they would be fast.
I am by no means a great driver but I passed close to 20 people in a 20 minute session. There are a lot more videos like that, just no time to edit them.

Track nights are very very interesting things. Great concept, cheap rates, but so many novices. Advanced group in Track Nights is comparable to HPDE2 at a nasa event

Aidan, why weren't you screaming 'EAT A ****** DICK YOU LITTLE BITCH!' at the top of your lungs? It's definitely the thing to do now.
I'm not sure. I normally do what feels comfortable, never really been coached.
Stoves, I was thinking it for sure. Nobody ever failed to point me by so I wasn't totally pissed.

Drag racing Safety requirements make me sick. the fact he had 2 shoulder harness bolted to that one little tab is astounding.
