I think the engine I bought was out of an automatic, there's a plug on the throttle body with four connectors in it. Score?

Not that It matters, I have a 1.8 Manual.

But are the auto cams different from the manuals in the 1.6 (aka less power)? Something I remember reading a while back.

not, just the piston have less CR. so you can be a bit more aggresive with boost/spark I believe 9.0:1 vs. 9.4:1
