Serious question:
If I'm making less than 200whp, do I "need" forged pistons? This VVT engine will have 10.5:1 pistons in it, why spend more money on it?

I must be tarded because I don't even know what you guys are talking about. Won't a junkyard VVT motor make more than the stated goal of 130whp without even hosing off the deer guts?
Not sure about a mustang dyno like he's talking about.

Eventually I'll have a 10.5:1 engine, bowl work, fancy cams, BE oil pump, SM damper, Skunk t-body, maybe 180whp by then. For now, just 120whp or so on a 9.5:1 bottom end, we'll see if I can't keep up with the FI guys.
Just for some comparison, in what Husler is trying to accomplish with his next motor.
here is my last dyno run trying to get the VVT sorted.
it is a '94 block decked .020", ACL bearings, ST 11:1 84mm pistons, stock crank & rods, 2001 VVT head with diy port clean up, stock cams, square top IM, RB header, cat delete, SM exaust. Toyota COP, home brew CAI, DIYAutotune VVTuner & DIYPnP ecu.
I have just installed a Skunk2 TB and rewired the TPS (because the TPS adaptor from Skunk will not work and I had to use a '99 TPS sensor) (too bad I sent Hustler my 01 TPS connector!)
