If things don't work out for the east coast nationals I might send the car out for the west nationals at Sonoma. I know that track very well. Sonny will be very hard to beat if he decides to run however...
Ive been offered to drive an old team owner of mines HC1 car, so I might come anyways

Just adding information for those who are interested.
From Greg,
Your '94 Mazda Miata with a 1.8L VVT Miata head and a maximum 161 rwhp on a Dynojet, and a Minimum Competition Weight (w/driver) of 2410 lbs, will have a new PT/TT base class of PTD/TTD. You may update to '01-'05 Mazda Miata brakes without a points assessment as well.
Or
Your '94 Mazda Miata with a 1.8L VVT Miata head and a maximum 161 rwhp on a Dynojet, and a Minimum Competition Weight (w/driver) of 2360 lbs, will have a new PT/TT base class of PTD*/TTD* (seven points). You may update to '01-'05 Mazda Miata brakes without a points assessment as well.
The interesting part is they allow for Sport Brakes without penalty.

Yep, I talked to Greg last May about letting the 1.8L reclass guys have NB (1.8L or Sport) brakes in May of last year. Showed him the update/backdate rule that allowed him to do it, and he agreed. At that point, the NBs were lumped into the 99-05 line, so any 1.8L motor got all of the NB brake options (all 1.8L motors 94-05 were dyno classed the same at that point). With 99-00 and 01-05 on separate lines now, I wouldn't expect him to give the 99-00 guys Sport brakes (only 1.8L brakes).

Bringing this back. I won Nationals in 2006 & 2007 in TTD and TTF. There was a lot less competition then. I was able to leave points on the table and pretty easily win back then. I even won in my wife’s street Mazda MX6 in ’07 after I crunched my spec miata really bad earlier in the year. Things have changed in the 7-8 years I took off! Any significant changes to the TT/PT rules in 2015? I would have to dyno reclass to B or C. I have a NA6 with a 2554.

Message Greg for dyno reclass info. His would be "official" and can be used with your car.
otherwise, I think there is a thread on trackhq about dyno reclass numbers. that maybe outdated though.

Some recent dyno reclass info from a few days ago. (FOr non VVT head swaps).
94 Miata, dyno reclass to 154hp and 2560 min. competition weight.
TTE*, must run in TTD. 99/00 brakes can be used without points.
OR
94 Miata, dyno reclass to 155hp and 2575 min. competition weight.
TTE*, must run in TTD. 99/00 brakes can be used without points.
235mm tires, blah blah.
If I want to stay in TTE I'd need to up the min. weight to 2665. Not something I'm interested in doing, but it is an option.

Here is the 2014 email from Greg:

Your new base tire size is 245mm. You will not assess modification points for Section B. Weight Reduction or Section C. Engine Mods. You may update to '01-'05 Mazda Miata brakes without a points assessment as well. However, all other modifications, including transmission and LSD, that are not standard items on a base trim '94 Mazda Miata must be assessed points. You must be compliant with the above listed maximum Dynojet HP and Minimum Competition Weight during any tech. inspection.
So that's what I went with. I had to add about 50 lbs.
We will see what 2015 brings. I am going to dyno it agin, because I don't think it is making that much power. Hopefully I can get those 7 points back. And use them for aero.
