So a single plate with the hole size of your choice, some paint removal and some zapping.

What you want is a bulkhead tank fitting with a flange larger than that hole. I might have an appropriate fitting somewhere in my garage, I will have a look after work, but they are called bulkhead tank fittings.

Had a nice scare today with the bearings. ACL has been backordered since January. Managed to find a set on ebay, and a set on amazon. So I ordered both. We will see who gets here first.

Spent some time on the lathe today and made some lower delrin bushings. Might help a bit more with the wheel hop. Burnt off my old ones too.

broken cutting tool, trashed bushing. The usual

I came up with a much better system the next time around. The bushings don't actually have to have to be perfectly centered. As in the outside isn't constrained by anything. So I just tossed shorter pieces in the 3 jaw and went to town.

I showed the picture of you trying to part some 3" material about a mile away from the chuck to the machinist here at work. We both laughed, and decided I would be best to let your process evolve on its own without our intervention lmao. At least its just plastic. Now go try that with steel.

I would not have attempted it with steel. I actually got pretty close with delrin. And if I hadn't gotten overzealous with the cutter pressure I might have won.

Steady rest was like half an inch too small, otherwise would have used that.

If you look at the vacant dovetail on that tool post in your pic, you'll see 2 dents, one with the surface pattern ridges from a lathed piece of material. That made some noise and ruined some undies im sure.
