I've seen this thread alot but I'm actually REALLY thinking of doing this myself since I have a shell sitting out back and found a 2jz local with harness etc for $400. Saves me the trouble of getting a 240sx or sc300 and doing it

Just spent the last while reading the entire thread and I'm really excited to start doing the swap myself. Might take awhile like it is for you but it'll be awesome

The project is back under way I have been doing more work on it fixing things I rushed in the beginning and am planing on about spring time to be on the road the harness is out of the car and ready to ship to Dr. Tweak I just need to get the rest of the money. I am redoing my exhaust, cutting and re-enforcing part of the frame where I need to make more room for my turbo, re making my lower inter cooler pipe, and finishing all the other odds and ends so when it gets warm all will be ready. I have to rewire my LC-1 because it does not seem to like the way I hooked it up and possibly find a few interior parts but other than that is is basically there. This is taking much longer than expected but my fiance' stopped working to go to school so that threw a wrench into things. I will tell you that even though you do not get daily updates does not mean I am not working on the car and this car will run before I am done with it. If I have to overnight the whole car to japan to get it to run I will it is just gonna take more time.

Good to know you're still working on it. That sucks it came down to you needing to ship the harness off after everything just because you couldn't get the injectors to fire

Lightbulb nice work so far

I went through a lot of your postings about trials and tribulations on the 2jz swap. I am planning to start a 2jz swap in the near future for my 92 miata (td04h/link engine management). Dunno where your located (minnesota?), but this was my plan.

* cheap n/a sc300 (2jz, ecu, tranny, wiring) /w after market single turbo kit for 2jz
* custom drive shaft, steering rack, engine mounts, and exhaust system
* looks like cutting the hood latch area and customing the front end frame
* looks like reinforcing the frame below and custom mount for tranny/driveshaft area.

am i missing much.. prolly am...

shifter has issues of 1 inch forward offest. engine has a 200 lbs weight difference. ac removed. was there cutting of firewall?.. dont remember.

Very interested. Just started reading about this when i got up...

IT RUNS!!!!!!!

This post is to prove that this build is not close to over it just went on the back burner for a little while. Here is the first video of the 2JZ miata running. I now have to finish all the little stuff but I wanted you all to know that it runs and I did not forget about it.

PS. I owe Slow_Sc3 my life.

Yea we looked at the views and there is 24K plus view I hope if nothing else this gives people more motivation to do swaps this car has $2800 in the swap and should be at 3k when its done this I feel proves that anything can be done if you put your mind to it.

Yea we still have some stuff to do before we can drive it but the hard part is over and the rest is down hill. I will try to bring the car to the dyno day if it is ready to run if not I will come by anyway to see what is around. I hope to have a vido of it driving within the next two weeks but we will see how it goes.
