I have determined, judging by the neg props I've been awarded, that I said something stupid. Is there any reason that running 7 PSI should result in such a fall-off of torque on the top end? What else would cause that drop in torque above 5500 rpm?

My torque doesn't fall off nearly that much when on a GT2871R at 8 PSI (similar max power potential to the EFR, and supposedly not as efficient).

Learn me please?

Continue the discussion in my thread if we don't want to have it here?

So... I spoke with Abe at ARTech and he will repair the manifold and also reinforce the turbo flange.

I ordered a new Vibrant 1/2" thick flange and TrackSpeed Inconel stud kit for the manifold.

The flange cracked all the way around. All this time I thought it was leaking from loose studs.

Flange thickness comparison. Abe told me he now uses thicker flanges. I had already purchased the Vibrant, So I'll use it.

I smoothed and cleaned the collector edge and both inside and out.

Is that all Swain'd up or just a spray on coating?

I sprayed on VHT and baked it in the oven.

Abe worked his magic on the manifold and he added gussets to the flange for more support. Thanks again ARTech!

I got the manifold back from ARTech. The flange was a bit warped from welding, so I surfaced it and ported it to match the collector.

I then wire-brushed the old VHT paint off and cleaned it with thinner.

Fresh coat of VHT.

Installed with TSE EFR stud kit.

So whats up with the car nowadays? I just read the whole thread and it's an inspiration! What do you think would be required to get too 230 Whp? Would it be streetable/dailyable?
Is your car dailyable or is it too much power?

I know, right? There are enough of us on the forum with Abe's manifolds that a short production run would totally be warranted. We could totally make it worth it.

datboi: I'm still racing the car these days. I got FTD at the last event. The car is still running great after 5 years of boosted racing on this setup. I have over-built this car for the track. You wont need to do as much as I did for a 200-230 whp setup that is not raced on the track. I can daily the car, but it requires restraint and power corrupts and the car begs to be driven hard.

Heatshields? I'll see what I can do. I'd need to see the setup of all prospective buyers to make one that will fit them all. As for mounting the boxes, I think both NA and NB might have the same mounting points on the chassis. Maybe I can make a printable template that can be used for fitting to verify the dimensions.

Do you need better brakes than stock if you are going for 250ish whp?

you only need better brakes if you want to stop

j/k

Depends, if you're driving around town and not being a dick, then possible on stock sized rotor and better pads. Track, then upgrade.
