Excellent progress! I'm hoping to make a tube for the reroute on mine as well (when I get to that point). Do you have any reservations about the tube anchoring to the chassis instead of the engine, or are the rubber hoses at the ends enough to combat any movement from the engine?
I always wanted to get rid of that long coolant hose, so I made a hard line to replace the GM truck hose. I bought schedule 40 aluminum tube and cut the pieces and taped them together to fit. I also made some cardboard pieces to make patterns for the mounts. I went to the local Autozone to get hose to to fit.
That's why he used normal radiator hose sections on either end so that this won't be an issue. I see nothing wrong here.

Thanks for the comments!
I figured the stock hose configuration is the same as mine except I moved the flexing hose to the rear. The only issue I ran into was clutch hard line clearance. I solved it by using a long flex hose for the clutch and removing the factory curled hard line and bracket at the transmission. The hose at the rear also curves up to clear the AC lines and engine wiring.

So far, all is well. I'm still taking it to the track and beating the snot out of it.
I noticed a smell of coolant after one session and found this:

After three years, the soft aluminum fitting was bending and leaked at the collar. I bought new fittings and ground one of the barbs down on each one.

installed and good to go.

I have been having an issue with high idle. After searching for vacuum leaks I found that the throttle body has a screw loose where the idle set screw rests. I readjusted the idle set screw and it broke. I replaced all the screws with stainless and I used a nylon lock nut and thread-locker.

Looks like Leafy was right about the Skunk2 throttle body "Devil Screw". I'm surprised that Skunk2 used crappy hardware for idle screw and idle screw rest.

I'm not. Junk2 is called that for a reason. I also happen to think their "miata specific" tb is lazy work at best, lol
*edit: you are AWESOME. Thanks

I'm waiting on MTnet approved muffler now. My tinnitus would be proud.
What are the complete specs for the exhaust? Header type, diameter from the turbo, any resonators and what size? Muffler?
I will duplicate the exact exhaust. I'm very picky when it comes to sound.
Yeah, 99mx5 is using a somewhat smaller muffler than the MT approved model.
Thanks!
Although, I guess because I'm not using the single path Magnaflow am I using an MT approved muffler? Can we add my dual path to the muffler holy trinity?
