Clearly I was looking cool. Or maybe I was embarased but felt I should be honest about it now that I finally know why that setup sucked so bad. Nah, probably bragging.
Well, that's kinda my point. Reading only the post I quoted, someone would have no idea you'd left the compressor wide open the entire 700 miles. It still wasn't entirely clear to me what you had figured out, now I know you have no relevant data on the subject of "bigass turbo miata" because you didn't know what you were doing. Whatever, **** happens.

I didn't need to say that, you already did. I'm asking for clarification is all, since you're all over the place worse than Aidan.

I have a r56 mini k03 CHRA to rebuild, and the turbine housing, but I probably need something bigger. Mini didn't make more than 170ft lbs near 18psi on the same 1.6l with modern VVT and DI, it's that small. The bigger K04 churbo is only like $250, getting first hand experience on how long a new china k03 CHRA lasts here now, in a mini...

All that matters is all the torque asap

Yeap couldn't let it go that cheap, sorry. Pretty sure I could get 1/2 of what I paid for it if I dropped it on ebay without any trouble. And it's the early investment casting too.

I bet you could get a lot more for it than that. 700 miles on it is practically new.

Yeah **** happens. I've fucked up a lot of **** in the world of boosted miatas, still probably more to come! That's probably my best though, leave a hose disconnected on a BOV is pretty stupid.

+1 for all the torque asap though! That's fun.

Deezums just get a 1.8. That will give you more torque

This will be bragging: 1.9L VVT E85 Supercharged to 28PSI- all the torqx. But seriously, it make it really fun to daily, though a big turbo would be faster up top no doubt.

Per dollar, that'd probably be the best way to make more on what I've got now. I'm still waiting for a deal, though. Good stuff seems to keep coming up on craigslist the colder it gets, or maybe I'm nuts.

Honestly though, once I fix it so I can turn left again I'm probably just going to leave it for a year or two. I need to finish my other project or get rid of it...

I need something that does 80 on the highway better, the miata does it but it's loud and all the revs...

Just quoting this, but he's probably right. Especially if your goal is to have it be reliable, and not just a dyno queen where you don't daily it, or you turn the boost way down for daily driving. Actually I bet a 600whp daily driver BP has never been done reliably.

I don't think i'm asking for a 600hp daily driver. I don't think i have that kind of cash. and 600hp is pushing a s200sx to its limit. I'd rather be lower down in its efficiency range.

Yeah deezums. They are a pair of TD-03's from a 335I I chopped of the turbofolds and was planning on welding on a V-band for some project in the future. Let me know if you're interested. It should spool off idle on a 1.6L.

Yeah pat you need to ask more for that. I'm planning on selling my 6758 soon, but it has a small chip missing from the turbine wheel from when I nicked it taking the housing off (if it hasnt blown up on me its not going to on the next guy), but comes with swaintech on the turbine housing. I was going to do 1k including the turbosmart wastegate or 800 with just the stock waste gate.

And no I'm not giving up on the efr, I just want to upgrade to the lighter aluminum housing.

What's your take on the twinscroll s200sxe?

Is the SXE the one thats basically just an efr with a journal bearing or the one that still has a traditional inconel turbine?

No. Inconel. I haven't seen any journal bearing gamma-ti turbos.

I think those might be a little small, I think k04 or bigger is the one I want. I don't really know, think it would hold 200-250ft/lbs till stock redline?

These things are so dinky I bet even a 1.6 is too much, lol

I really want to see your gas mileage with a 100kpa+ idle

I bet you would overspin it way too early.

I love the contrast going on here.

Discussing a twin scroll 500hp turbo, and a teeny 180hp turbo.

Well, I think it comes on a 3.0L I6, or at least half of it, so that's ~1.5L for one of them in stock form. It makes 400 ft/lb, so maybe?

It it still a twin scroll, how do they do twin scroll on three equal sized cylinders?

You sure about that. I think it's the newer N55 that uses 1 twin scroll. The parallel turbos were single scroll

Well, that would make things easier.

I didn't think there'd be a way to put twin scroll on three cylinders.

I mean you could do it, it wouldn't be ideal.
