This is my favorite kind of dyno session -- you actually learn stuff.

Hacked up an ebay damper puller yesterday. Allowed me to pull the supermiata damper without even pulling the sway bar.

I hate that job though. But its done. And appears to be leak free. Drove it to work today.

Going to jack it up tonight and look for more leaks, but as of now we seem to be doing ok.

I'm getting a weird misfire. Happens more often when cold, and mostly goes away when warm, but still comes back occasionally. Mostly part throttle stuff. Going to double check my plug gap, and all my spark plug wires, maybe they arent fully seated.

Log attached of misfire. Going to try and get more this afternoon. Its the little blip right before the markers, when it goes lean. Which makes me think spark. Hate **** like this.

If you want to post a few pics of the wastegate actuator when you have it open to change springs, I would much appreciate it.

If it's going lean during the misfire wouldn't that indicate it's a fuel-based misfire, not spark?

When the fuel doesn't burn because of a spark misfire it goes lean. O2 sensor senses the amount of oxygen, and unburnt fuel appears lean on the o2 gauge.

Feels similar to other spark misfires I've had. And it was really bad the other night, I reseated my plug wires and it got better.

Only reason I know is because my random misfire last year saw the same symptoms. And was ignition.

Any chance it is your coil settings. zYou recently changed to GM right?

Did you ever actually gap the plugs, or are they still at the default out-of-the-box setting?

The gap would have to be pretty far off for there to be a problem right? I can't remember what mine are gapped at but I did not gap them conservative at all.

I kind of checked the gap. I've been meaning to check it again. But with d585s and no boost i feel like it shouldn't be an issue.

I agree. That is why I don't think your issue is going to be the gap.

If they're NGKs, they're pre-gapped at .045 or something.

Only the -11"s are gapped at .045, the non-11"s are .035 or something.

No innovation here, but thought I'd share seeing as spark is about the only thing I haven't had trouble with yet. I'm running d585's & NGK's gapped at 0.040"

Same settings here.

Working on a theory. I think my spark plug boots are wrong. They are really hard to get to click in, and all of them might not be clicking.

I had this problem. I just used a knife and shaved a bit of it off so they would fit, and now it's fine. Been running them for probably 4 years or so now? Actually long enough I should probably change them....

On my coils, I need 3ms dwell to fire a 30thou gap at 38 PSI clean. To fire a 40thou gap at 38 I need 6ms dwell.
