I know this guy named Sean that makes LS to VVT wires that work perfectly in my car, maybe you've heard of him

 

Apparently Sean had some quality control issues

(For the record I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who has had complaints about these wires, they work fine for everyone else)

 

Swap one coil at a time. Excuse to drive around and feel magic.

 

I may resort to that. But its annoying as hell. I probably have 30 miles on the car today. And only a few misfires at the beginning. But as soon as I think they are gone, they will show up again.

 

How much for a set of quality new coils? You track the car, having spares wouldn't be a bad thing anyway.

 

A lot. I have 2 spares currently, maybe I should drive over to farpolemiddle's house and borrow his other 2 spares.

 

Well if you got 2 you can do some swappage and testing to see if it's a coil issue, though swapping 4 new ones at once would be easier. How much is a lot?

 

That **** will narrow it down real quick. All 4 of mine from that set were ****. nice wonderful ****.

 

I haven't even priced new OEM coils. But I believe non-oem replacements are in the $80 range, and known to suck.

If this was repeatable I would have started swapping coils. But sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt. And it doesnt help if I swap coils. And don't get a misfire. Because who knows if thats what fixed it.

No judgements on how bad I hacked up my shelf to put in my roll bar. I woke up the next day and was like wtf was I thinking.

GL, I bet it's a coil problem since you said it's intermittent. I've had intermittent coils before, they always do that so it's hard to diagnose... Also congrats on being a mod!

They are definitely wrong. And i measured the exposed plug when installed on the plug. So if you have one around we can compare.
