I'm too afraid. Not sure if my ego can take the inevitable bashing of my choice.

I bought it mostly for its actuator bracket location now I just need to find out how to turn down the boost.

I also ordered one of those, Curly.

That was discussed in an earlier thread, it was put somewhere near ~2560 status with a full of awesome wastegate actuator location.

Link to thread?

Now I just need to decide on an intercooler routing. For some reason I though Sav had a simple through the fender setup, but he's headlightless. Then I found johnathewha's setup, but he's running some stupid narrow radiator. I'm hopping I can fit two 180* pieces around the radiator to hook up with the intercooler. Then 2 90* pieces on each to hook it into compressor and throttle body.

that one looks pretty good, really. and yep, pretty much a GT2560, which is probably about perfect for stock motor.

Is the wastegate actuator even attached to the compressor housing at all? if not, that's really cool, would allow guys to pretty much point the compressor in whatever way they wanted and retain the IWG. Hopefully its not really 14 psi..... maybe with some wastegate porting it will be just fine. Worst case it looks like you could fit about any other generic straight one on there with a lower rating.

Let us know when you get it in. I have been curious about this specific turbo for a while.

I think you'll be wanting more turbo than that very soon, since you track your car.

It was just picked up in CA to be delivered to tx. Abe's going to hate me, I might be asking for update pictures every day.

We'll see about wanting more. As is I'll be maxing my injectors and at the limit of my stock internals.

190hp. I'm not upgrading injectors, it'll blow the motor if I make use of them.

Stock '93 5spd. How long did yours last? I hopefully won't be running too long at 14psi, if at all.

I started working on my intercooler setup, so far I'm happy. My over the radiator setup always bugged me. Bashed pipes for hood clearance, difficult to seal the ducting, and near impossible to do anything with a filter beyond bolting it right to the turbo.

Old:

And a rough mock up of the new hot side with old pipes:

Cold side. The first straight coupler after the TB won't be there, I just didn't have a piece long enough for mock up:

The 90* piece will be a 2-2.5" piece I have, with a 2.5" pipe going into one of these at the intercooler:

Should provide for a fairly clean setup. Best part about all of this is I'm keeping the same number of couplers (x3 per side) as my over the radiator setup. Not bad.

Worst part is this, which is definitely going to affect resale value. Notice the crack on the top weld:

Next I need to have a Hustler panic attack about my oil drain location working with this manifold:

That's also where I got my intercooler routing idea.

Yeah, apparently that picture didn't do the crack justice. Here's the other side.

Curly, you sir get props for the simple reason of sending your chinacharger to Abe. I get to buy the same fittings as you because Abe has the same turbo I have there in front of him .

Did he get my turbo already? Nice. And you're welcome. I'm hoping my banjo bolt fits the oil feed, I have a drain fitting somewhere around here, and I'll be using clamped on hoses for the time being.

Did he say what sizes all four are?

No clue on if he has it yet or not, but I'm totally leeching off of you for fittings for the turbo.

Saves me so much time, effort, and aggravation in trying to find fittings otherwise!
