You're going to make me blush man, you're welcome. Congrats on the dyno numbers, I'd imagine the "lack" of torque isn't a problem at all, given our tire choices it has to be MORE than plenty.

Anyway, my job just helps me finance my lifestyle (Married with two kids and still playing with little sportscars? Yes please.)

oh my. can't wait for some WOT 1-4th

how are you liking the car? how does it feel? how is the torque down low? (or lack thereof)

topend is obviously beastly lol
does boost onset really smooth or does it kick you in the ***?

WOT 1-4th LOL I need some tires before this happens. I love the car!!! But it is really almost to fast...I know, no such thing as to fast, but this damn thing is close.

Friday night I was coming home from my nephews football game, the on ramp to the highway is one lane that splits into two, the two lanes then carousel around 270 degrees before putting you on the highway. As I was putting along at 40 coming up on the carousel this jackass in a new Acura RL decides it would be a good idea to drive right up my ***, then as the lane changes to 2 he pops over, shoots me a dirty look, and gingerly tip toes his big *** heavy luxury anchor around the carousel and onto the highway. As I enter the highway he is maybe 60-70 feet ahead of me, so I decide to give him a little demonstration of what the Miata is capable of if I want to drive like an *******. 3rd gear at 60 I squeeze on the power grab 4th just after passing him stay in it for maybe another second or two, then let off. I glance at the speedometer and think fu*k my speedometer is broken...the thing was reading 118; then I noticed how fast I was closing on the other cars on the highway and got on the brakes hard. This was just a quick little jaunt from 3rd to 4th, and I was at almost a buck twenty.

What I am learning, is all the rules change when you unleash the power this thing makes. I used to own a liter sport bike, it was very seldom that I ever ran it hard because it was so blindly fast, that things happened very very quickly, and running it at anywhere near its potential on the street was irresponsible and just plain stupid. Well now I find myself is the same boat with the Miata. It's not a bad place to be, I just have to choose carefully when I let the beast out of it's cage, otherwise it could bite it's master or worse, somebody else. But I digress...LOL I always wanted to say that.

Boost onset is smooth as long as you squeeze the throttle, if you just mat it the car just breaks the tires loose.

The car has plenty of torque down low, and is very docile and easy to drive when out of boost, But the second you crack the whip this car becomes a beast. It is safe to say it is the fastest car I have ever driven, and happily, even though it goes like stink, it is very easy to control.

I will post up some in car stuff after I get a camera mount built.

Ok, am impressed! You now have me going back through this build thread to see what you have done to the suspension and brakes because I don't remember reading about that. I hope to be where you are soon.

intense and intensely tuned down. 12 psi? ffs its not bad for 12psi. and for your wheels i know u were saying u didnt have the coin for 1/offs but ccw makes some really really nice wheels, some black ccw classics in like 17x10 in the rear and 16x8 in the front would be really really nice. then u just need a set of something very very sticky. iv heard you can crank those s2k motors up to about 550whp with stock headstuds and people have made over 700 with just studs. Your car + some tires + about 4 more psi could prolly lay down some insane standing mile times. Id imagine that thing could do 200 pretty easily.

I find both of these claims very very hard to believe. Hondas are insanely prone to head lift at even modest boost levels. The compression is too high to push enough boost to reach 700 from the factory as well.

This build is freaking awesome... keep it up.

You must not go on S2k forums at all and research, guys are pushing 700 whp with just a headgasket and studs.

i feel like another leg humper saying this but damn holy grails batman, thats awesome. goes like stink @ 12psi on e85 == goes like stink with a non-stressed drivetrain. big turbine wheel super efficient turbo without caring about when full boost hits because 5k-9k is still 4k of fun. crazy ****.

leaves the rest of us scratching for a 100 or 200 rpm for onset of full boost wondering what hit us. i was hoping to do something like this with my sr... ha! its ok press on regardless...

To all you, a very humble thank you!!! The car is a joy to drive, I seriously feel like I am 16 all over again, wanting to drop the hammer every time I let the clutch out. The performance is everything I hoped it would be and then some. My only complaint is the grabby clutch vs the 8 pound flywheel, it makes for some interesting stoplights, but it is getting better.

I still need to do brakes, the 1.8 upgrade is okay but could get overwhelmed if I need to panic stop from high speed. I don't think I am going to track the car much, I am an original SM racer and now that I am done with school, I want to get back into the racing game on a limited basis. I am leaning heavily towards building an limited prep f-production miata. I could have a car capable of a podium position at the runoffs for roughly a 20K investment.

But back to the current project. I realize that I will never get good 0-60 times unless I put some serious rubber under the car. I have decided on AWR flares and RB bumpers if I go the wide tire route. But I cant help wondering if hankook 225/45/15 rs3's would be sufficient from about 40 mph up. I kind of like the whole sleeper concept. Big flares and tires would blow that boat right out of the water. What do you guys think

Thanks for the kudos! There are a few guys that I have read about on stock block e-85 30# boost setups pushing 700whp. Of course at that point it is not a question of if, but when things will go south. I am hoping that my set up is conservative enough to give me trouble free fun for many many miles.

I over built for my power goals with the thought of being well within the performance parameters of my parts. I think I did it. Could I have got to the numbers with smaller injectors and turbo yep, and could I have done it on log manifold, but not at 12 pounds. My main goal was good hp/boost ratio and I think I accomplished that.

OMG! What a beast. If I'm even in Denver... Haha.

That'd be really cool. F-production is a highly competitive group. Good luck!

car is impressive to say the least.

I vote for the wide fenders and ridiculous wheels though.
You have the power to back it up, why not have the car look gorgeous too?
Sleeper is great, but that green car with flares and 1-off wheels made me *** buckets. Might as well have the complete package: power AND looks.
