This is at 165kpa (12.5psi) peak. Keep in mind I'm at altitude and ambient pressure is ~78kpa. Also it's boost creeping pretty good, hence the weird torque curve. I think it just wants more boost.
And the accompanying log (notice the MAP fluctuate correlating with the torque curve). Does this log seem a little noisy to you guys?
Obviously the af/r should be cleaned up. Clearly the MAP signal is a little spikey, but I think the wastegate is doing some weird things. It currently has an 8psi spring in the WG and a MBC to turn it up from there. Maybe a bigger wastegate spring and less boost controller would make this nicer.
Still needs more tuning as always, but it's on a conservative timing map with lotsa fuel and it's running great!

It's been cold and snowy, and the miata has been mostly parked. However, I'm starting to hoard some parts for next season.
Frog arms (not pictured)
Brain MS3X
Flat-top intake manifold.
Sorry for the garbage pic!
Plan is to switch the car over to the MS3 in the spring, running on the 99-00 timing system, re-tune the car (with help from Vlad if he's still up for it), and use it as much as possible. Hopefully 3-4 track days this season, at least, we'll see.
I really want to make the car look nice this year too, leaning towards a wrap in blue. We'll see.

I apologize for the shitty photos, time for a new phone I think. Either way, here's a few I snapped over the last month with my latest adventures.
Bought a 2007 GD impreza 2.5i wagon 5mt. It has a salvage title from a fairly minor impact, has 138k miles and I got it for 2k. Gonna throw a new door and fix up the damage. Makes a great daily/traveling car, though I still mostly drive my GTX day to day.
Bought some awesome Hotbits suspension for my 323 gtx.
The 323 now handles really ******* good. Pretty much how I always dreamed this car would handle, as it was somewhat of a disappointment on stock suspension (similar to an NA miata). These are rally gravel length spec so it's at a bit taller than stock ride height right now. Still playing with the front/rear rake right now before getting a final alignment. I have it at a .5" forward rake now (measured at the pinch welds) and it handles pretty fantastically.

Another track day down in the miata! This time it was a local time attack event. Ended up squeezing out a 3rd place which I was super happy with. I again have no useful video except for a 2 second clip of me flying down the straight.
This was my third time on the track, hopefully going to hit a bunch more events this year as long as the car keeps holding up! I'm running 12psi or ~240whp or so, and the build held together great. Didn't have to touch a thing all day and did 20+ laps. I got a best time of 1:36.5 if anyone is familiar with Sandia Speedway, and I'm pretty happy with it. Lots of time left on the table in this car as-is if I can drive it better, I could taste 1:35's but ran out of time. Also will probably need to consider upgrading the brakes, the stock 1.8 brakes with hawk5.0 pads were smelling pretty cooked after each heat, but did the job and I had a great time. Next event will be next month when we go up to PPIR in colorado springs for some more fun.
BTW I drove the car 120 miles there, lapped the **** out of it, and drove 120 miles back without a hitch. My main issues right now are comfort issues with the car on the drive. It's a wee bit droney and with the windows down its back drafting in some exhaust fumes. Also the tries seem to get out of balance each time I go to the track, which makes the drive home after racing all day pretty annoying. At 80+mph (4k RPM) the car was shaking a bit on the highway. Is it pretty normal for tires to get out of balance after a trackday? Not sure if there's a solution for this short of a second wheel/tire setup for the drive.

I'll definitely get in touch once plans finalize in March.

I use this Wurth tire paste for tire lube and it seems to glue the bead to the wheel in a way that means I've just not had tire slippage issues. Between that and using real metal duct tape over the adhesive weights to keep the brakes from melting the adhesive off I am managing to keep track and auto wheels in balance until they pick up a ton of boogers.

Thanks! The plan is to make the PPIR March 21 (Round 1) event, but we'll see! It's my understanding that spec miatas run in the 1:35's on average and the record is a low 1:34 or high 1:33. Very happy with the time, though I'm sure the car is capable of more. Hoping to progress and grow into the car a bit this year with no major upgrades planned. Looking to upgrade the brakes, the ECU to a MS3, the intake manifold to a flat top, and just keep tracking it.

As for the event, no biggie, if my buddy and I enjoy racing there we plan on hitting quite a few of them this year. The event in sandia was super fun, so ideally that and PPIR will be my main tracks to hit this year.

Small update:
Since I'm getting more and more into trackdays I've decided to upgrade the harmonic dampener on my car.
Removed this old POS
Installed new Fluidampr hottness:
The new Fluidampr design gets rid of the 4 bolts that usually hold on the damper, it instead bolts onto the crank using the crank bolt. It's a super solid design, and not nearly the PITA that I've read about with the press fit ATI style, and as a plus I didn't have to redo the timing since the timing gear stays in place. Very happy with it. The engine is clearly smoother in all RPM bands. Seems like an obvious choice for insurance on a trackday car! I also got the 36-2 trigger wheel on it to run with my MS3 soon.
I also noticed a bobble in my oil pressure gauge went away that I was noticing towards redline. A bobble that I'm sure is not detonation related. It much have been harmonic frequencies at that RPM with my stock blown out damper.

Thanks for the heads-up, I saw that. Total bummer, but I'll be out there once things are back to normal. Hopefully I'll be running on my MS3 by then.
Not heading up this weekend anymore, will probably "quarantine" myself in the garage. Oh wait, that's what I always do!

Had a nice ripping canyon drive today (boy where the roads empty, I saw 3 cars in the 1.5 hours I spent in the canyon), and my damn trigger wheel broke! I'm lucky I'm still using my CAS for timing control, or else I would have been stranded. Ironically tomorrow I was going to rewire it and install the crank sensor to begin using it with my new MS3, but now that's on hold.
It's a fab9 trigger wheel that's designed to work for both OEM style pulleys and ATI style, so it has little cutouts where you can remove the inner section. Apparently these weren't very strong, because it broke where the yellows lines are. It was not rubbing anything, and the cam sensor wasn't even installed so it's not like it made contact with that.
On the positive note, the car fuggin rips, the suspension is plush and has tons of travel, and generally the car is feeling super sorted now days.
