I had the exact same thing with my ebay rad. I cut the stock aluminum mounts down 1/4 to 1/2" so there wasn't a huge *** gap and then drilled/tapped the mounts deeper so the threads wouldn't bottom out as much. I still ended up sing little rubber washers to take up some slack in the bolts. There's still a gap, but not as bad. Every time I see it I think I should fill it. But haven't really noticed a reason to yet.

They worked no problem for over a year or so.
Except if you sit at a light in 100* weather with the ac blasting. It just...doesn't blow cold at all. Then as soon as you're over 40mph all is well.
Since I drive this thing daily it has to work 100% of the time, all the time. I can't go into a meeting at work with pit stains lol. Because not-racecar

lol you guythssss
I'm not sneaky, still just driving car daily and loving it. I think insulating/shrouding the rad/fans helped, but still haven't been over 100* this week so we shall see.
My bro has a 60k vvt long block I might pick up and maybe super slowly start building again. Just when I'm bored. Maybe this winter or something. Who knows.
Main goal is to just keep driving this thing as much as absolutely possible.

LOL. I spiraled out of control into bicycle addiction, hustler knows what I'm talkin 'bout.
Seriously though, I kind of realized that I need to focus $$ on my property and building a nice place, so I've been pedaling for fun and saving money. I still have the car and a nice pile of parts, it's simply been postponed for a while. I've still been driving it and just topping it up on oil for now
The engine build will probably proceed this fall, because i have all the parts anyways and I just need the time and motivation.
Thanks for asking

My "trail" bike does it all, and I have ~1500 or so invested in it (over the past 2 years).
At this point the bike runs very well and I don't foresee putting much more into it in the near future, unless something breaks. Bikes are fun because you get to push your skills and get in shape, which makes the miata faster in the end too

Lars, "then" has to do with time, "than" is used when making a comparisons.
That said, I have a high end bike, but still more $ in the Miata. Both are fun. Both are ignored by stupid drivers.
