Whow. It's impressive that you're that close to him considering the huge power and grip disparity.

Yeah 3 seconds is a lot though, I'll need more power and aero before I can get any closer

2.x seconds is a lot, yes. Bob's car will be hard to catch. Right now you have a weight advantage, which will help, but you definitely need a different turbo or Aero of the Gods to drop 2.x seconds.

Well as far as power I think the 3 inch exhaust + wastegate dump and the DW300 pump allowing me to go to e85 will allow me to maximize the turbo I have now. Aero will come next but I also could increase tire size or buy some yoko super softs to increase grip

It depends on the tires too. If Laz was on like maxxis or something a set of sticker A7s are going to eat up nearly half the time. Non-dots even more.

Yeah he was on decent rubber. There is some to be gained there, sure, 245 R7's on 11 will definitely have more grip. But he wasn't on deficient rubber.

The tophats are for Lazarus
Track day number 2 of the season done!
Car ran great for 6 20 minute sessions. A few things were changed from last time.
I went with Koyo's new 37 mm radiator with a Koyo cap.

fitment was excellent and it was up to the task of cooling a turbo car without any issues with the proper ducting.
Dying Walbro 190 was replaced with a new DW300, that solved my leaning out issues and gave me peace of mind.
THere was a lot of traffic but shaved a little bit more off my personal best on one of my few clear laps and it now sits at 1:23.8. Car still has more left in it, I just need the testicular fortitude to make it all happen.

So far the most exciting thing for me has been the success of the Lotus big brake kit. Braking has become a joyous occasion, the pedal feel is truly amazing with the rigid AP calipers and the heat capacity of the larger brakes has proved dividends in repeated bouts of late braking. I decided to go ahead and throw new rotors on the car and see how long they last, especially since the used OEM lotus rotors are started with already had cracking around the drilled portions when I received them and are only directionally vented 1 way, which means one is always backwards.
I replaced with with DBA 4000 rotors, I was planning on doing the 2 piece 5000s but they are out of stock through my supplier until later and I figured I'd give these a shot. They have temp paint on the outside and get ride of the drilled holes of the OEM rotors and are properly vented allowing both sides to cool at the same rate.

Below is a comparison of a new cobalt pad with the ones I currently have. This is with nine 20 minute track sessions as well as over 1000 street miles. Seeing as these are race only pads that hate being cold and thus get destroyed with street use, they are wearing quite well. Nice even pad wear and I'm sure if I didn't street drive the car they would last even longer.

If anyone has any questions about the Lotus/AP racing BBK or is interested in purchasing the brackets to make this possible, feel free to message me.

Cool results. What's was the ambient temp during the track day?

Update
went to the ridge first time with lazarus. Did a 1:51.8
Car needs a few things, stiffer springs, aero (which is on the way) and a 3.9. I'm almost maxing it out on the long front straighy at the ridge, gps indicated 137mph at 6800rpm with 200 rpm left with my 6spd/4.10 combo.
3 in exhaust is being fabricated with a vent to atmosphere wastegate dump, after that we will see what it makes and then bolt this puppy on which was generously donated by Chooofoojoo for testing purposes

Some updates. While laz was down I did a track day in the daily. 1:28.2s around PIR on street tires with my temporary open diff trans in it, car was a 1 tire fire hoot Lost the lip and ran it over at about 125mph, will look to stitch it together and rivet it onto the bumper.

APR wing is here. 3 inch turboback exhaust has been fabricated by Kris at KO racing. V bands with a 4inch magnaflow muffler. Curly has retuned it, I'll let him post dyno results.
Here are some photos.

just the tip

Ah, Kris's fabrication skills are fantastic. I need to have him make me something someday.
