Had a blast talking with all the drivers this past weekend with the Rolex/Continental series rolled into town. Was awesome watching them run the course - shows me just how slow I am! Got an opportunity to try out Simcraft's sim that were letting some drivers test - wow! I want one...

Some rotory love:

Turner's winning #94 GT car -

Thanks to RSR Motorsports for hooking me up with some take-offs. Can't beat below $20/tire! To my surprise, they were running 6ULs and the crew chief said they crack the hell out of them - guess that's what happens with nearly 900# rear spring rates - Yes, that's what he told me b/c it shocked me - I had to ask twice!

Nice! I am dying to see the rolex series in person sometime. How much life is left in those takeoffs?

Esp. after getting rid the that nasty vibration I had. When the tranny was being swapped, I went at the contact points to the exhaust with a 5lb hammer and beat some clearance into it!

Alright - thought I'd update the thread. I WISH I could say I had the 1.8 put together and putting down 400 at the rear, but I can't. Since starting the business, funds have dried up with start-up costs. BUT, I now have a new home for the beast!

I found a 2500sqft shop/office with fenced yard to do my work - both money making work - and money spending work. Less than 5min from my house. 2 offices, 1 with nice work bench, 2 bath, storage above offices, plenty of room for several single post lifts (use to repair the freezers), a 2 post lift or two. Some of my HPDE buddies are thinking about pitching in cost wise to have a place to work on their cars. Tire changer and balancer is definetly in the future. All this for $625mo on a 3yr lease.

Well, instructed at Road Atlanta this past weekend - had some fun. Tried out the DTC-60s and I'm sold - no more XP12s for me! China piece of **** taco cracked in half - 3 days using it on track too. Guess I got lucky with the 1st one. Anyway, Abe will be working me up a manifold that will drop in without having to re-config my turbo and DP. Worth it for the price since I'm a good 6mo from getting everything for the 1.8 to go in... which will require another ARTech manifold.

My student also let me drive his '06 911s - fast in the straights, tail happy in the corners - just not the same as a miata!

The manifold started to crack in the spring - I FAIL at welding, but with cheap **** like this who can? I got the manifold cherry before welding - but couldn't get good penetration. Guess that's what I get...

Had some fun with this old-school 911

On my last lap, I was posted my best of a 1:41.4 - with a cracked manifold only netting me 11psi

I know I should be commenting on the cars performance, but OMG your paint is incredible!! I can not get over the depth of it. Absolutely amazing.

I guess you didn't like my latest super shitty video.

Gene, that's quite a serious crack. Looks like it's all the way around.

Man - if it wasn't for the head flange, it'd be in 2 pieces! Probably should pin the image to the egay wall of shame...

Sounds surprisingly well for a cracked manifold.

I wonder if it would've cracked with cuts through the head flange (a la greddy cuts)...? And yes, I don't think you're weld slowed down that crack. The good thing about your intermin 1.6 manifold is it will hold value for resale. You'll have a proven piece to throw up for sale when the time comes- and it's a drop-in replacement for the eBay mani-fail.
