You want to shield the dipstick from the turbine housing, exhaust manifold, and downpipe. Ask me about having to remove my engine because of tiny bits of melted dipstick in my oil.
I don’t have any problems with exhaust heat. |
IM is ready and working

weekly update
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361433420 LSx coils sitting behind the valve cover. It's a temporary place until I found better place for them. They are holding still though https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361433420 Spare .86 A/R turbine housing https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361433420 DW300 fuel pump https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361433420 And tank full of sweet E85 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361433420 This is going in next |

Good stuff muoto.
The engine sounds sportier in the video... did it change significantly with the new intake? What is the outside diameter of the roll bar tubing? |

IIRC; HD M2 roll bar is 1.5" diam x .120" wall (or 38mm x 3mm wall for us) Also this is going in when I figure out how to configure 36-1 trigger setup in Adaptronic :) https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363007591 |

Oh noes... https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363680767 What is this creamy thing doing in my valve cover and cylinder head :( Time to do a compression&leakdown test: cyl#1 = 203psi. leak-down = 4% cyl#2 = 193psi. leak-down = 16% cyl#3 = 196psi. leak-down = 10% cyl#4 = 209psi. leak-down = 5% Nice. Head is warped ..again.. (I did loose a water hose last summer and it overheated) https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363680767 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1363680767 ...and there we are now... |

Car is running again
2871 is kicking much more aggressively than old 2560. I haven’t play with the EBC yet but spooling isn’t much behind 2560 Last thing on my list is brakes. I think I’ll go with the TSE BBK http://www.miata.fi/kuvat/tsetilaus.jpg |
sounds great and looks like its a handful now on the road
'grats man |
Thanks man.
With the large exhaust, boost creep seems to be a constant headache. It’s same with the 2871's internal WG, even if I zip tie the wastegate lid open boost still creeps to 15psi towards the redline. It makes the road tuning little bit difficult as I have to concentrate so much to traction. |

For my wastegate creep I took the flapper off and ported the flapper port as much as I could making the inside of the port have a beveled edge took all my creep away. I was very happy with the results!

Interesting gas struts, where are they from?
(hilux is cool) |

(hilux is cool) Hilix is cool :) It’s a shame that it’s just so damn slow. I need to put turbo on it :fael: |

I ran into a problem that every time I turn left and accelerate, car suddenly died. It was easy to guess where the problem were...
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1366276690 ...and how to fix it. I had accidentally installed my DW300 pump in wrong way. :loser: Now it sits an inch lower and filter toward the bottom https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1366276690 |

Looks promising :jerkit: Keep in mind that last year when I did that 287whp virtual dyno run, I went to the DynoDynamics after that. Real DynoDynamics dynamometer gave me 284whp so there's a very small error margin. Both runs had been taken in the same road, same gear, same tires, and same VirtualDyno profile Although VirtualDyno isn’t a real dyno it is still a good result, 330whp with only 15psi. Seems that the Honda IM is flowing well ;) |

well...shit... Guess I have to brace/support that long Honda IM |
why not weld aluminum "ribs" in the middle of each runner?
