https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1401551753 Can cold rain do this on track? |
Unless you're drowning them in liquid nitrogen after each session, I'm gonna say that's not healthy. TSE 11.75" kit?
|
Those cracks! Before this, did you get vibrations when you stepped on the brakes?
|
wow that looks scary
|
That's absolutely terrifying. Glad no accident happened as a result.

Wow that could have ended badly! Glad you spotted it before it was too late!

I bet thermal shock from being red hot and going through a puddle could easily do that.

I drove 300km home from track before I noticed those cracks. Good thing we don’t much traffic here

It's a standard 8x7" bolt pattern. I run the TSE kit on my personal car. We switched out the Wilwood rotors for a set of PFC rotors. The quality of the iron is substantially higher. the part number you need for the PFC is 299.20.0050.01/02 (01-drivers) (02- pass). We can get them for you. If you want to stick with the wilwood rotors you need a part# 160-12283
Local motorsport shop sells Ultralite HP rotors part.no.160-5841. To get the car running quickly again I probably gonna change that broken one with that |

That cracking is caused by the ABS system. Your rotors are reaching thermal capacity and then the system hammers the brakes on/off/on/off/on/off. a OEM abs system can destroy some of the toughest rotors.
Thanks OGRacing! Now I can sleep again :) |

I think you are right! Just look at my front tires from that last brake disc picture. There’s hardly any surface left and it felt like that in track. ABS was kicking whole time
