Welp, just ordered Tunerstudio and Megalogviewer.... $79 for both programs isn't bad... decided to take advantage of their $20 off sale while I could lol. Also still waiting on the wideband. As soon as I get it I will start my MS install! Can't wait!!!

 

So where would be the best place to install the AIT sensor in the stock intake system? I was thinking about just before the throttle body, but it might be tricky with the curve of the plastic. Other option I thought of was right after the stock maf housing... Thoughts?

Set up my AIT connector and figured I would wrap/loom the wires.

 

I did get the correct TPS right (Wells TPS201)?!?? Seems smaller than I was imagining lol

 

Parts arriving daily lol. Picked up Vlads Forge Bov so that should be here next week. All I really need is boost gauge and injectors. I'll be installing my megasquirt and wideband in the next couple weeks.

Also got a free 6speed for swapping a guys motor for him lol

Welp still waiting for a stretch of free time so I can install the MS/Wideband, and learn some tuning.

In the meantime, just buying some small parts here and there. I picked up this coupler for the BOV, and I'm thinking about trimming it to keep the forge closer to the coupler. Any reason I should just leave it be, before I start taking a razor blade to it?

 

I cut down couplers all the time. Im thinking of buying the 3' long coupler to cut down for each project I have instead of buying the 3" long coupler.

 

Lookin good. Those couplers, just like most all silicone hoses, couplers, etc. are made to be cut to fit. No harm done by cutting it to fit exactly how you like.

Same as if you get the silicone radiator hoses. You have to cut those, they make them extra long and cut-to-fit on purpose.

 

Nice thanks guys... I worry about the most ridiculous things with this build. Just making sure to double check everything I am doing, even if it seems like a no-brainer lol.. Better to be safe than sorry.

Honestly I wouldn't "install" it in your intake at all. It's just n/a so just zip tie it next to your filter somewhere where it won't get heat-soaked or artificially cooled.

 

definitely don't zip tie it next to your filter, unless you don't care at all about your MAT trims. you want it in direct flow. But I probably wouldn't hack up the stock intake unless you don't care at all about it.

I simply put mine in the airbox. Just laid it down onto the panel filter and closed the lid. In direct airflow, no hacking, no nothing, and when it comes time to remove its the easiest thing in the world to undo

 

I ended up putting it right before that bendy piece. Really don't care about the stock intake. It'll probably end up sitting in the garage for many years once spring hits and I have boost lol

 

I've been too busy to get any work done on the car unfortunately... But with a little extra cash in my pocket around the holidays I decided to order my injectors today. Grabbed a set of new fic 650's with pnp adapters. Last thing I need is a clutch. I'll be grabbing an FM stage 1 soon and I already have an oem Flywheel that I have to take to get resurfaced soon.

I've also been going back and forth on whether I should get my manifold ceramic coated. A friend of mine got his show evo swaintech coated and swears by the stuff. I would consider getting the downpipe coated as well but not sure if that's needed or not..

 

Last piece needed for boost! Now to get my clutch from Flyin Miata and decide if I want to use this 6speed I have in the garage or not...

 

So I kinda just bought a 1.8..... And the 1.6 hasn't seen boost yet. Fml. The motor is a friend of mines and it needs bearings apparently. I'll most likely put it to the side and maybe start planning a build for it. He is moving to NC from NJ so it's sort of a "must sell" and I'm picking it up for $280. I sold a 1.8 head alone for $300 so I think I'm getting a deal.
