I'm taking my wife's 09 Corolla when she buys a new car in December. I manage a car rental company so if things go south in the meantime I'm covered for transportation lol

Trying to take care of some of the "little" things that I don't want to get screwed by this weekend. Today I took my 3/8 bit to be machined down so I can use it in my drill. Glad I remembered about this because I would have been SOL if I didn't get this done before Sunday!

Why didnt you just buy a reduce shank drill bit? I have the tap drill for 1/2" npt in reduced shank I bought it on like ebay or something. I think drills and cutters was the seller. That was way to much drill bit for a 3/8 chuck hand drill.

I didn't even know there was a reduce shank bit lol... I guess I probably could have found it if I did a little research.

This will do just fine for drilling the pan though.. I already checked and it fits the drill perfect now. Luckily I went to the machinist that we use at work and he wouldn't take my money, so that was cool.

Wow went from the highest or highs to the lowest of lows today... everything was going fantastic... Injectors in, set up my oil lines (Thankfully didn't drill the pan yet), tore out the stock intake, etc....

Artech made me a 1.8 manifold, while I am here with my 1.6. I sent this 1.8 manifold to Swaintech and had it coated for $300 ... Fml....

Sounds like a perfect reason to swap in a 1.8...

Sorry dude... That's a quick way to ruin your weekend

His car has a 1.6

His turbo manifold is for a 1.8

Turbo install gets difficult without a turbo manifold

I'm not dropping the money on a 1.8... I'm gonna wait to hear back from Abe and hopefully we can still make something happen this year. I want to give up but I think my tune will change once there is a solution in sight. I'm trying to look past this initial frustration.

I'm more upset that I had the manifold swaintech coated and now I won't be able to use it. Hopefully Abe will work something out with me...

Sounds like Abe is going to take care of me for a replacement manifold.

My proposal to him was:

- He makes me an identical manifold with a 1.6 flange

- I pay him for materials to make the new manifold

- I keep coated 1.8 manifold so I can sell it and re-coop $$ for paying him for parts as well as having the new 1.6 manifold swaintech coated.

This all seems fair to me. I will check back when I get a response from him (hopefully tonight)

I have no idea what i'll ask for it...

I paid $550 to Artech
....... $250 to Swaintech

So I have $800 into it so maybe like $600? ....

We'll burn that bridge when we get there though. I still have to hear back from him and see if he thinks that is a fair way to go about it

Wow, I thought FM's TB elbow had the BOV T-pipe as a separate piece. I don't see this on their website.

Bummer about the manifold, at least you've got a way out.

Yeah they dont have a lot of things listed on their site (I really believe this is a huge disadvantage for them and I will never understand why they dont invest in adding more to their site)... But I called and spoke with a really nice guy and he said this is an updated piece that they supply with their kits. Really happy I went with it, but now I just hope I get this manifold sorted in a reasonable time!

Well as some as you might have seen in my other thread... 1.6 blew up. Ordered a 1.8 that should be here tomorrow... Guess it was all meant to be. Now I get to use the 1.8 manifold after all!!!
