As soon as Josh told me the crank sensor was loose I had a feeling that was the problem. I rotated it away and felt the deep groove in it and was sure it was toast.
Aidan's auction car saves the day again.
I'm still going to put the new trigger wheel on. There's some pretty serious wobble there.

The MS wouldn't work with the 12-tooth TSE trigger wheel that had been used for the AEM.
for what it's worth, the bent wheel did not have any effect on the car's failure. It was simply that we did not tighten the crank sensor.
I ordered a new trigger wheel just because I could and because the other one is definitely slightly bent (it was more than slightly bent when I got it). I'll install it tonight.

I'll spoil the surprise for him because I'm the one that sat in that horrid car for 5 hours. I got out of a slightly improved horrid car. 237hp on wastegate, with I think 10ish hp/tq gain over his previous MSM head in the lower rpms. 290 hp with 20hp/tq gain in low rpms, which is when I looked down and saw 80% throttle. I think the pedal is sticking on the carpet.
One glory run, finally at 100% throttle, yielded 330hp. That was about 17.5psi. We ended the day closer to 15psi and 300hp for safety/reliability.
WOT is now tuned, but a massive amount of work needs to go into the rest of the fuel table so it's not pig rich everywhere else. EBC needs to be properly mounted, plumbed, and wired to a switch so he can go between his 240hp/300hp boost levels.
Coil #4 is dead, he's off at a parts store to try to buy a new one, so Smurf and Ed's car have 8 working coils between the two of them, instead of 7. We did all 45 dyno runs with smurf's coil pack sitting on top of Ed's, using 1 of mine and 3 of his.
Other than that the engine bay just needs minor/major wiring/bracketry/plumbing clean up, the Spa gauge needs to be re wired so it doesn't shut off when you turn the blower on, and the idle/startup/general drivability needs to be tuned. Coolant and intake temps were very well controlled the entire time, and his battery actually seemed to perform well despite numerous stops and starts.
Good numbers though.

Take it easy on the engine bay. It was out together by 2 guys who have only worked on NA's. At like midnight, on a Friday.
Well clean it up tonight and do some general organization/cleaning in the engine bay.
Good numbers, I'm glad everything on the MS side of things worked out.

Quite a day!
Late Saturday night was still dealing with a missing cylinder, so put new plugs in and swapped to a shiny new trigger wheel.
Same problem. Tracked it down to a toasted coil.
Got up early this morning to go to Josh's house before tuning to borrow a coil. Mine fixed itself on the way. But after getting it on the dyno it crapped out again as Josh explained.
Had some issues with the wideband from the dyno which set us back at least an hour, likely more. Even so, by the end of the day I was very very pleased with the results.
Changes since last year:
-MS3x build by Aidan instead of EMS-4
-Skunk2 TB
-VICS instead of VTCS
-VVT head instead of regular MSM head
-LS coils instead of stock MSM pseudo-cops
-return fuel instead of stock returnless system
-3.63 rear instead of 4.1
SAME dyno, turbo setup, exhaust, intercooler, etc.
Before it took 20 psi to get 317 whp (and 283 tq). This time we hit 323 whp and roughly 280 tq on only 17 psi had some funny business going on that seemed like spark blowout, so we dialed it back a bit.
At only 15 psi we got 301 and 268. This will be my current street setting.
Wastegate netted 8 psi and 233/217. This will be my track setting.
Of course none of this matters without a dyno graph of all 3 runs. All figures are UNCORRECTED. Will post videos of a couple pulls later. Also need to take in-car video.

We trimmed some more wiring from the engine bay last night, and cleaned it up a little bit.
Its still an ugly **** under there. The corrosion on the valve cover is disgusting.
The rest of the car is awesome. We'll see what else we can break on the 14 hour trip down to MRLS.
