More pictures for you Nancy.

Engine shot after Ed's $20 cross over tube. Please note the hilarious #1 spark plug wire. Ed's got some cheap NGK replacements on the way.

Back of the exhaust manifold. You can JUST see the oxygen sensor, and it's plug by the dip stick.

And the front oxygen sensor, with it's plug by the valve cover.

General exhaust side, showing a few bits of the alarm. Ground strap by the intake tube, and the horn in the cowl.

Intake side, with not much to show.

Random alarm box by the gas pedal. There's another box behind the gas tank filler tube, but that's covered by carpet now. If it were my car, the alarm would be the first thing to go, although after removing one from a '92 a few years ago, I'd have to be very cautious. It wouldn't start afterwords. Definitely not worth the work for Ed.

And Ed replaced the missing A-pillar plastic!

Thanks for all the input gays.

I agree 100% regarding the alarm. Would remove if keeping, since selling will tuck it out of the way. Maybe I can find a way to stuff it up behind the radio so its not down by the pedals.

EO2K we definitely DID wind it out well beyond 5000 RPM... But not with his wife in the car. We gave it a good caning on some back roads and it performed like a champ, seemed very strong over 5500 rpm. Would be sweet to swap on the later goodies but won't be worrying about that on this car.

Hoping that JC wins the two miatas he is bidding on this week. Saweeeeeet.

Excited for tomorrow. Hoping for a bit of boost. Just a little

You know how you can tell its a CA-spec car? That oil dipstick. It's the only thing 'better' on that car- because it's a flexible cable with a metal loop handle that doesn't snap like all other dipsticks. It was done because of the extra heat in the engine bay cause by the manifold-mounted cat.

I should order one for my new engine as its actually kind nice to have.

Post part # if you're doing that anyway please.

IIRC you can't get them from Mazda anymore. The dipstick is BP4Y-10-450A, and you'll need the tube to go with it. The CA-spec stick will not fit the Fed tube.

Yeah there's a few places to get it, I think miataroadster carries it too. Way better than the crappy plastic ones that break any time you look at em.

If you need the short line to connect that fuel dampener lmk, I think I might have one.

Otherwise that engine bay just needs some love (vc gasket looks to be leaking?) and a REALLY good bath with a pressure washer and degreaser/cleaner/brush.

IF you don't feel like hooking up the dampener, just remove it altogether. Looks so dumb just sitting there pointlessly.

Sourced another one but now can't get the axle out... At auto zone renting tools... Oi. This was supposed to be the easier part! Lol

Step 3: give up. Tried a bigger hammer, tried one of those axle things that you bolt to the studs and press the axle out... Nada. I am going to order another control arm and try again next week! Probably will completely remove the axle and everything as a unit and take it to a shop to have it pressed out.

Tried. We missed it by $25.

Drove the 10AE home from Curlys and around town. Replaced the brake light bulb. It has an oscillating vibration that is at its strongest at 60 mph. It mostly goes away by 80 mph.

In other news: this car has had the front cut off it by the shock towers and had another front welded on. It was in a very serious accident at some point.

Other than the oscillation and CEL, it drives sooooo nice though. Would love to keep and daily, and WOULD, except I don't need my own daily. Love it.

Hate Concealer for his awesome purchase too.

I refuse to read this insanity so I'll ask what is probably an obvious a question: Its not coming out of the diff or the hub?

WAIT: The 10AE was front-halved?
