Basically I needed both -4AN on both sides. For some reason -4AN screwed into my turbo perfectly.

Quoted for posterity.

That is desperation folks. That's like hitting 4 different corner stores with your fake ID trying to score the wine coolers the fat chick sitting bitch in your '82 Corolla wants so she'll get frisky enough to ****.

The funny thing is is that it still leaks, but it is the correct fittings on both sides. I will be converting it down to 3 pieces tomorrow and I should be able to make those not fit. We will see. Tomorrow will be a long day on my miata trying to get it to work.

that the middle fitting needs thread sealant probably. not teflon tape.

What type of thread sealant? It actually only leaks at the top fitting which I could new screw in except by hand. The hardware store will be the first place I go in the morning to get a different fitting to make it only 3 pieces.

grab some high temp pipe thread sealant while you're at the hardware store. i found some that's good up to 1000 degrees or something, certified for steam piping. it's this god awful tar smelling yellow ****, but it works well.

Use aviation sealant to seal the brass fittings.

After reading a bazzillion internet threads on how to jerry rig my AN fittings to make them not leak it seems the consensus is teflon paste will work.

all he knows is his -4an to 7/16-24 inverted flare fitting did not fit. Searching here says it's probably a m12 x 1.5 fitting. He tried running the -4an side of his fitting into it and it fit perfectly, so he jerryrigged a -4an union. But I know he can find one local...but I'm sure he went drinking instead.

I would too, if my car was that much of a failboat.

I tried finding one locally and none of the hydraulic shops had one. I probably do need one side to be an inverted flair. I will give Stephanie at Begi a call and have her source me one. I will make this not leak and work until then.

Thank you for the reassurance that it is ok to be an Alcoholic. I actually ran out of beer last night. I guess I need to go buy more today.

Selling crack cocaine. The real reason I go up to DC is to pick up Coke, I then bring it south and make crack to sell. I just tell braineack it is to hang out with him.

So now my car does not get a correct CAS signal for some reason. I am not sure what caused that not to work between Sunday and today. I ******* hate wiring. So please someone tell me it would be a bad idea to pull my dash and to make a wiring harness from scratch.

On the plus side I found an old pentium 3 laptop with a real serial port at goodwill for $25. **** works awesome.
