Have you/they tried an mbc? Just for testing purposes to see if it resolves the top end fluctuation.

There was a period of bouncing ideas around, but because it ended up going through a middle person, I didn't often get to speak to Tuan, the tuner. Only for the spark stuff he called directly when I was in San Diego. I've been on several work trips so a lot of time was troubleshooting over phone and here on MT.net. I'm not sure what was done independently outside what I've been told.
