The Current Events, News, and Politics Thread
Ah, I see.
Because I criticized a mainstream media organization, which is normally something that the far-rightists here reserve for themselves, y'all changed up and made this about Brexit itself, and the political leanings of those who supported and opposed it.
Very clever, there.

Unless she's the ultimate unicorn, she's a lefty that's preening about a lefty subject, while at the same time making herself and her profession look good while simultaneously making Brexit look bad.
And THIS is the example YOU picked.

I can find about 600 doctors who say there are more than 2 genders in a few minutes.
so i guess that means it's true since it's harder to find an opposing dr to speak on tv and willing to get cancelled and threatened with violence because they aren't part of the hivemind...
got it.
Guess it's true! The mob has spoken.

Um, I don't remember any economists chiming in. Just one person, a reporter. In the UK.

The entire point being made by Emily Maitlis is "It was easy for us to find a whole bunch of economists who feared Brexit, and hard for them to find one who supported it. But the BBC made us put one of each on the air side by side, and act as though this was balanced representation."
So, yeah. Her whole point was to make her profession look bad, because they presented the public with a distorted view of what economists had to say about Brexit. Nothing political at all.
Moving on... The following it not an actual Chevy ad. It is satire, from two years ago, which aged rather well:

Are you blind?

Either you have the dustiest dry wit on this platform, or you simply can't be helped. Emily is saying, "I really wanted to show everyone that the knowledgeable experts all agree with me, but our extremely high morals at the BBC forced us to compare "our" side--which is right--to the one crackpot that is pro-Brexit."

It's genuinely interesting how two people can look at the same picture, and see entirely different things. Both of them convinced that they, and they alone, are correct in their perception.
