Swedish Government wants to ban ancient Viking symbols, claiming they “constitute incitement to hatred”

The Swedish Government is trying to make certain runes from the runic alphabet, as well as some old Norse Scandinavian symbols illegal.Their official reason for banning the runes is that ***** used some of them during the second world war, for example the Odal rune that means O and the Tyr/Tiwaz rune that means T.Reportedly, the Social Democratic Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson is behind the initiative.According to the proposal, Old Norse symbols and jewelry may also be banned as incitement to hatred. This includes Mjolnir, hammer of the Norse God Thor, the Valknut/Odin’s knot and the Vegvisir. However, runes are over 1200 years old and have absolutely nothing to do with *****.For many Swedes, the runes are a big part of their religion Asatru, and for some they just have a great historical meaning. In the definition of racism in Sweden it is included that any kind of oppression against a religion is racist.Which means that banning runes is racist and against Swedish law. Nonetheless, the government is now trying to ban the country’s pre Christian heritage, religion, culture and art.

AOC 10/18: "we have only 12 years left to avoid climate disaster"

AOC 4/19: "we’ve got a deadline: 12 years"

AOC 17 days ago: "the 'world ending in 12 years' thing, you’d have to have the social intelligence of a sea sponge to think it’s literal"

AOC Last Night: "we have 12 years left"

I'm pretty sure everybody knows there's always been climate change. There were glaciers across North America and a land bridge from Alaska to Asia. Then a man created a horseless carriage and the very next day all of the woolly mammoths and sabertooth tigers died. So sad.

Remember in the 1960s when all of the leading climate scientists were worried about global cooling and they suggested we take airplanes and sprinkle coal dust over the polar ice caps to cause them to retain heat and melt to help warm the Earth? These are the same guys.

Please look up grants that exist from any world government to researchers attempting to prove there is no man-made global warming. Then look up grants that exist to prove that man is causing global warming. It reminds me so much of the television shows where they are hunting ghosts or Sasquatch and always find evidence that supports the existence of the thing they are specifically paid to pursue.

I'm old enough to remember when the big scare was the hole in the ozone layer due to ozone depletion and it was going to kill us all with solar radiation in 10 years. They wanted us to stop driving cars, using aerosol cans, and brake cleaner that actually works. Meanwhile California has people dying from breathing ozone because they have so much of it and yet people are buying machines that generate ozone as air purifiers all around the country.

Oh yes, every scientific or academic paper ends with "more research is needed".

Thing is, the Ozone hole was / is real, and lower CFC's has seemed to help it heal. Surface Ozone \= high altitude ozone. Yet, even that had a $$ motivation for DuPont, as the newer refrigerants are more profitable than R12 was. Flip side is that EPA has driven up price of asthma inhalers as only one company seems to know how to make them without CFC's.

I have not been convinced that climate change is anthropomorphic. Sorry Skamba. It is all political. GE had a paper about 5 years ago about how to make $$ on global warming scare, whether real or not.

To be honest, you have to be pretty thick to say:
1) "Current higher co2 levels are not manmade" - also see the graph above. Although co2 levels have varied previously, they were never as high as now and have never changed as quickly.
2) "Higher co2 do not lead to higher average temperatures". For example, see the Exxon report linked above. The Exxon report was obviously not government funded, but still came to the conclusion that higher co2 causes higher temperatures.... 40 years ago! There are similar reports from other big oil companies.

The other stuff seems you say sounds like a pub rant. I tried googling for people in Cali dying of Ozone and climate scientists saying 'everyone will die in 10 years because of the Ozone layer hole', but couldn't find any serious sources. For the pouring soot over the ice caps, I was able to find a single article. Apparently, a very small number of scientists considered it but never really took it seriously.

Almost all scientists are convinced global warming is real and manmade. Denying climate change means denying the scientific process. I hope we're not at that point - that would literally bring us back to the dark ages.

You say denying climate change like I said I was denying climate change. That didn't happen. Read more carefully and dismiss less.

Warmer temperatures cause more CO2, and are not the result of more CO2.

We are on a solar-powered planet that is subject to cyclical changes far beyond our control.

https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2659/f...nput-to-earth/

Over the course of about 11 years, our Sun cycles from a relatively quiet state to a peak in intense solar activity -- like explosions of light and solar material -- called a solar maximum. In subsequent years the Sun returns to a quiet state and the cycle starts over again. The Sun has fewer sunspots -- dark areas that are often the source of increased solar activity -- and stops producing so many explosions, going through a period called the solar minimum. Over the course of one solar cycle (one 11-year period), the Sun's emitted energy varies on average at about 0.1 percent. That may not sound like a lot, but the Sun emits a large amount of energy - 1,361 watts per square meter. Even fluctuations at just a tenth of a percent can affect Earth.

In addition to those 11-year changes, entire solar cycles can vary from decade to decade. Scientists have observed unusually quiet magnetic activity from the Sun for the past two decades with previous satellites. During the last prolonged solar minimum in 2008-2009, our Sun was as quiet it has been observed since 1978.

"We don't know what the next solar cycle is going to bring, but we've had a couple of solar cycles that have been weaker than we've had in quite a while so who knows," said Dong Wu, the TSIS-1 project scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Today, scientists have neither enough data nor the forecasting skill to predict whether total solar irradiance has any long-term trend, said Doug Rabin, deputy project scientist at Goddard.

These data are also important for understanding Earth's climate through models. Scientists use computer models to interpret changes in the Sun's energy input. If less solar energy is available, scientists can gauge how that will affect Earth's atmosphere, oceans, weather and seasons by using computer simulations.

You claim co2 is purely a result of an 11 year cycle out of our control. Explain why before the industrial revolution, the highest co2 recorded was 300 ppm in literally hundreds of thousands of years - and 283 in 1800, and it's now >410.
