Ilhan Omar funneled another $150K to alleged lover’s consulting group
(Reuters) - Two cameras that malfunctioned outside the jail cell where financier Jeffrey Epstein died as he awaited trial on sex-trafficking charges have been sent to an FBI crime lab for examination, a law enforcement source told Reuters.
Epstein’s lawyers Reid Weingarten and Martin Weinberg told U.S. District Judge Richard Berman in Manhattan on Tuesday they had doubts about the New York City chief medical examiner’s conclusion that their client killed himself.
The two cameras were within view of the Manhattan jail cell where he was found dead on Aug. 10. A source earlier told Reuters two jail guards failed to follow a procedure overnight to make separate checks on all prisoners every 30 minutes.
He had been taken off suicide watch prior to his death.
The cameras were sent to Quantico, Virginia, site of a major FBI crime lab where agents and forensic scientists analyze evidence.
The Washington Post reported on Monday that at least one camera in the hallway outside Epstein’s cell had footage that was unusable. The newspaper said there was other usable footage captured in the area.
The U.S. Justice Department declined comment. The FBI and Federal Bureau of Prisons did not respond to requests for comment. All are investigating his death. Lawyers for Epstein also did not respond to requests for comment.
Epstein, a wealthy 66-year-old money manager who once counted U.S. President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew as friends, was arrested on July 6 and pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges involving dozens of girls as young as 14.
At Tuesday’s court hearing, 16 women said Epstein had sexually abused them, with some lamenting that his death deprived them of the opportunity to obtain justice.

- Anti-abortion lawmakers in Pennsylvania want to pass a bill that would require burials and, as a result, death certificates for "fetal remains," which in their terms includes any fertilized eggs that never implanted in a person's uterus.
- Fertilized eggs must divide to become the ball of cells that implants in the uterus in order for a pregnancy to occur.
- Women, and even their doctors, usually can't tell when fertilized eggs don't implant in the uterus because those eggs typically dissolve in utero and are shed through a woman's menstrual lining every month, making them undetectable.

I'm not sure it's fair to describe this issue as a matter of education.
One group of people consider even a fertilized egg to have the same rights as a human, and therefore consider abortion to be equivalent to homicide.
Another group does not consider an un-born fetus to be a human, and is unable to or unwilling to consider the beliefs of the first group, so they the only motivation which they can conceive of for limiting access to abortion is to exert control over womens' bodies.
EDIT: after a re-read, I realize now that you were probably referring to a lack of education on the part of lawmakers, inasmuch as the fact that identifying that a fertilized egg has failed to implant is medically / scientifically absurd.
I've always found it odd that, among the first group, a rather large subset of them see no problem whatsoever with female birth control methods which prevent the implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterine wall, rather than by preventing fertilization.

Another racist republican running for office.Danielle Stella, a Republican seeking to unseat Rep. Ilhan Omar, Minnesota Democrat, was suspended from Twitter after her account posted Tuesday about killing the congresswoman.
Ms. Stella’s campaign account on Twitter, @2020MNCongress, was punted from the platform after posting at least twice about hanging Ms. Omar, a progressive freshman frequently the target of right-wing attacks.
Each tweet involved an accusation recently amplified by Ms. Omar’s opponents that alleges she shared sensitive information with the Iranian government — a claim the congresswoman has since rejected as “outlandishly absurd.”
“If it is proven @IlhanMN passed sensitive info to Iran, she should be tried for #treason and hanged,” Ms. Stella’s campaign account said in the first tweet.

I'm honestly amazed that I haven't bee banned from more FB groups than I have.
Today, for instance, I demonstrated that I am **** by commenting that "Watching the commentary in this thread has really made me realize how widespread and internalized the belief that speech can be indistinguishable from violence has become" after responses to a meme about "verbal assault" really went off the rails, with people claiming that "verbal assault" was indeed a form of assault, and you could tell that they actually were being serious.
Unrelated:
It's long, and there's really no specific "watch this moment for the big payoff" scene. So if you're not immediately entertained by it, don't think that if you keep watching it'll get better.
