DENVER (CN) - A trigger-happy cop Tasered a therapy dog and then shot it to death after it had been caught by a fellow officer - and the abuse was caught on videotape - the dog's disabled owner claims in court.

While closing in on the dog, one police officer apparently tasered it, then the animal control agent hooked it around it's neck with a noose, as the noosed dog makes a futile attempt to run away, the second officer guns it down, shooting it five times, despite it being obvious after the first shot the dog was noosed.

An Oxnard police officer attacked a man for attempting to video record an arrest last week, twisting the man’s arm behind his back and violently shoving him against a bench after the man had placed the phone in his pocket.

The cop threatened to arrest the man for refusing to hand over his phone as “evidence” before a commanding officer intervened, telling the cop he was out of line.

The man, who goes by Angel B on Youtube, said he was allowed to leave, but he never did get the name of the officer.

And that is important if we want to at least try to hold him accountable.

The video lasts 38 seconds and shows Angel B approaching the arrests but remaining far enough away where he was not interfering. The cop storms up to him and appears to take a swing as the camera turns off.

Police Shoot and Kill Man for Watering Lawn, Family Awarded 6.5 Million | The Free Thought Project

Douglas Zerby was finishing up watering his lawn when neighbors, completely brainwashed by the police state, called the cops because they saw Zerby holding what they thought was a gun. It was actually a water hose nozzle.

Officers approached the position of Doug Zerby and without any warning whatsoever, fired upon Zerby, fatally wounding him with 12 rounds that entered his chest arms and lower legs.

Zerby’s family sued the Long Beach Police department for this horrid event and won. According to KTLA 5 News,

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) — The family of a man fatally shot by Long Beach police in 2010 was awarded $6.5 million in damages by a federal jury on Thursday.

“The money doesn’t bring my son back, which is all I really want,” Douglas Zerby’s mother, Pam Amici, said after the verdict, chocking back tears.

“I would just rather have Doug standing here next to me right now. But this is all we can hope for, and I’m very happy with the result.”
This type of violent escalation by police is now commonplace in today’s society. Only by challenging them will we win. However, the monetary award in this case is not enough, these cops should be behind bars. Punishing tax-payers for the negligence and aggressiveness of cops is NOT a solution.

Troopers caught speeding to doughnut shop | www.wsoctv.com

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is responding to a video caught by ABC's "20/20" showing state troopers in Raleigh dangerously speeding.

They said none of these incidents was during an emergency.

ABC clocked one of the police cruisers going 80 mph headed to a Dunkin' Donuts.

Another was caught traveling 75 mph in a 45 mph zone.

In a statement, Highway Patrol said, "We are committed to being a law enforcement agency dedicated to serving the citizens of North Carolina. We require our troopers to operate their vehicles in careful and prudent manner."

It also said Highway Patrol has taken appropriate action against the three troopers involved but didn't elaborate.

If a citizen is caught going 15 mph over the limit, they could lose their license or even face jail time.

A knife fight was reported in a Reynoldsburg, Ohio apartment complex. There was screaming and commotion outside our door, so...

We went to see what was up and had weapons pointed at us and physically grabbed for filming/witnessing the tazer of one of the suspects. "Get in your house NOW!" "Get in your Apartment & Shut the Door!" Profanity and unprofessional behavior just cuz we were filming? That's standard operating procedure for small town Reynoldsburg cops.

Apparently, in Reynoldsburg the cops can order you into your home AND to shut your front door just cuz. Don't dare have a camera, you'll be singled out, grabbed and pushed. Assault charges?

In the end, 2 brothers were taken away by the police. No one was stabbed and one of the brothers was tazed.

The neighborhood isn't that great but the police are worse. With cops like these I think I'll be moving out of the Reynoldsburg area forthwith.

The officer that grabbed my arm is William Early, badge #93, good luck with this cat.

Cops Taser 14-Year-Old in the Face, They Say 'For His Safety' | Alternet

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1385046520

A Pennsylvania mother is planning to sue the Tullytown Police Department for allegedly torturing her 14-year-old son with a Taser while he was handcuffed, Raw Story reported.

Marissa Sargeant revealed graphic images of her son bruised, cut and swollen after he was arrested by police for shoplifting at Walmart, along with another relative.

...

Yet, the police give a different account of how events transpired.

According to Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler, the Tullytown officers fired a Taser and hit the boy in the face after he escaped from their police car following his arrest.

Heckler said that police yelled warnings at the teen and fired a stun gun to subdue him because they were “fearing for his safety,” NBC10 reported.

Still, Sargeant isn’t buying it. She speculates that officers beat her son and then bullied him into slience:

“That doesn’t sound right. There’s no way, if he was running from behind, that he would get hit with a taser in the front of his face,” she observed.

What isn't in the video is him approaching my passenger window and also not telling me why I got pulled over. He eventually told me it was because of my window tint but did not even test for it. He found nothing in my car after telling me he "smelled enough marijuana in the car to consider it probable cause." He called in back up and the other officer had the nerve to ask me "so what's you're problem with the police?" I wouldn't mind having some legal feedback, if I can Id like to take legal actions against this rogue, unruly officer.

You can't just randomly discuss random shit I've said in various threads when I was looking for a response to the video in post #105 in the "world is not as bad as you think" thread. This was NOT the thread for it.

Now to address you comments:

I personally don't think most people are bad. I think most as good, and only a few are truly evil. I believe the quote I actually said was: gov't = bad, police = gov't, therefore police = bad.

But something I posted in a different thread, months ago, has no bearing to that thread. Just because you have issues with people, doesn't mean you should just shit in that thread for no reason.

As for fish and game, (back on topic for THIS thread), yes I know what power they wield. And that's a problem, not only are ourt police militarized, so is the EPA, Fish and Game, IRS, etc. etc. It's NOT a good thing. Soon food inspectors will start carrying and executing chefs if they don't pass code.

Its not self contradiction. He is pointing out a problem he sees with law enforcement. You can acknowledge that some police officers are, in fact good at their job, while still holding the belief that the police as a whole are bad. Cops also do not make up the entire world. I totally agree that the problems pointed out with law enforcement in this thread are totally true and that the "warrior cop mentality" is a real problem.

In fact one of my best friends spent the last 4 years as a sheriff in the county where the article at the start of this thread takes place. He actually knows the guy that was fired from Auburn PD and has told me about the real problems there.

And I agree with Brain that the police as a whole are bad. I also already know that cops don't make up the whole world and that there is small percentage that is actually good. But "cops don't make up the whole world" isn't what he said. That's what you said (Ryan)

He said people as a whole people are bad - cops are people - so cops are bad
I stand by my statement that first saying people as a whole are bad and then saying well the world isn't so bad is a contradiction of the 2 ideals. I feel like one is either clinical or not.
But hey, maybe I live in a world of too many definites (black and white with no grey).

BTW threatening to ban me over pointing out a different view (or one that contradicts yours) is just as bully like or corrupt as the system you fill this forum full of threads criticizing every day....
You can say that I was off subject matter in the other thread, but again I stand by my statement that they go together.
I rarely even post on this forum and when I do it's typically just car stuff. I have strong views about the world, but don't typically like to stand on a soap box about them.

your comments were just so out of left field it just make logical sense.

You took something I posted months ago (07-18-2013), and then quoted to it randomly in a different unrelated thread that had nothing to do with law enforcement. It was a video about some dude who saved over 900 Jewish lives in Nazi Germany and those people confronting him for the first time 40 something odd years later.

If you wanted to talk about that quote it would have been fine, but it would have made sense to actually quote it, in the same thread it was posted in, and then actually, I dunno, comment about it. You also forget I like to speak in hyperbole and say things to get a rile out of people.

I actually don't believe men as a whole are bad, BUT,

I'm too lazy to regurgitate this, so I'll just quote it, it says what I want to say quite well:

The truly and deliberately evil men are a very small minority; it is the appeaser who unleashes them on mankind; it is the appeaser’s intellectual abdication that invites them to take over. When a culture’s dominant trend is geared to irrationality, the thugs win over the appeasers. When intellectual leaders fail to foster the best in the mixed, unformed, vacillating character of people at large, the thugs are sure to bring out the worst. When the ablest men turn into cowards, the average men turn into brutes.

First person arrested under new 'hidden compartment' law

Sec. 2923.241 (I) of the law states it “does not apply to a box, safe, container, or other item added to a vehicle for the purpose of securing valuables, electronics, or firearms,” as long as said container “does not contain a controlled substance or visible residue of a controlled substance.”

Since the cops have said it was empty, and that they wouldn't have any charges EXCEPT the "trap car" law to hold him on (IE: no visible drug residue) then they have illegally arrested this man.

But hey, it's not about the letter of the law, unless it is, and it's not about the spirit of the law, unless it is.

Oh, and bonus law? "(G) This section does not apply to any law enforcement officer acting in the performance of the law enforcement officer's duties." None of that is illegal if you're a cop. You can build and design a hidden compartment in any vehicle with the specific intent of hiding controlled substances as long as you're a cop. See, now they're codifying police immunity, rather than leaving it as one of the unspoken rules.

A handcuffed 17-year-old North Carolina boy died of gunshot wounds in a Durham Police Department patrol car Tuesday morning, according to a 911 recording made public Wednesday.

Jesus Huerta was being transported to police headquarters on a trespassing charge by officer Samuel A.M. Duncan when, in the department’s parking lot, Duncan heard the shot from the backseat and jumped out of the car, leaving it to roll into a van with Huerta still inside, Durham police said.

In the recording of the 911 call, a police officer radioed emergency dispatchers just before 3 am EST Tuesday morning to report “shots fired” in the parking lot of the station. The dispatcher asked the calling officer if he was hurt, according to the recording. “I don’t believe so,” the officer said in response.

The officer is heard asking for medical assistance for a "gunshot wound. Approximately 18-year-old male, not breathing."

The man, going by "Angel-B," claims he was pushed into a picnic table as the officer continued to take his cellphone away. He said another officer stepped in and stopped the alleged aggressor.

The incident was captured on surveillance video which was used as evidence in the case.

According to 12News file stories, the incident resulted in the termination officers Grissom and Cunningham. Dispatcher Lindsey Davenport was terminated from her position because following her arrest on a non-related family violence case.

It was. But the onus of the earlier mistake lived on. Officers handcuffed Cooper on the spot to see whether he might be the brother Cecil, who is now wanted on a warrant in St. Louis County, even though he already is jailed in the city.

The names, it appears, remain linked in law enforcement records, possibly forever. So Cortez Cooper — who has no record of arrests or convictions, according to paperwork he obtained Monday — fears that in any future contact with police, he may have to prove yet again that he’s not Cecil.

He carries with him a copy of a court order in which a judge released him from the drug charges and declared that he is not his brother. He showed it Monday to officers, who then set him free. It was not clear what would have happened had he not carried the paper.

Prosecutors: Detective was 'reckless' in fatal off-duty shooting - chicagotribune.com

For the first time in more than 15 years, a Chicago police officer was criminally charged Monday in a fatal, off-duty shooting because Cook County prosecutors said he acted recklessly, opening fire over his left shoulder from inside his car into an alley occupied by at least four people.

Chicago police Detective Dante Servin, 45, stood with his hands clasped behind his back as his attorney entered a plea of not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless discharge of a firearm and reckless conduct. Servin turned himself in to state's attorney's office investigators earlier in the day and later was ordered released on $75,000 bail.

Police department shuts down after settling lawsuits against 2 officers | Washington Co. News - WTAE Home

POINT MARION, Pa. —The Point Marion Police Department in Fayette County closed its doors after settling lawsuits against police officers.

"We had to lay off the officers due to the fact that we do not have police liability insurance," said Point Marion Borough Manager Arthur Strimel.

Strimel said the insurance carrier dropped the department after paying two settlements against the department's only two police officers, including Kevin Lukart, who has been in trouble before.

Lukart had been previously fired from the Apollo Police Department after he was charged with exposing himself to a 17-year-old.

He was also fired from the Braddock Police Department after a WTAE news camera captured Lukart punching a man in handcuffs.

How do get another job as an officer after either of those offenses?

Then again, my half-brother is a deputy down in SE OK (AKA A part of the country where law enforcement will just bury you in the hills)....so I know the mindset, but can't understand why they have it.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown quietly changes shooting investigations policy | Dallas Morning News

Any Dallas officer involved in a police shooting — whether the officer fired a weapon or witnessed the gunfire — will now have the right to remain silent for 72 hours under a new department policy.

And even before they give a statement about the shooting, the officers can watch any available video before they give a statement.

Previously an officer who witnessed a shooting typically would have been required to give a statement to police investigators within hours of the event. And the officer who fired, while not required to speak right away, typically did so. The new policy now requires the firing officer to wait at least three days before giving a complete statement to investigators.

Chief David Brown quietly made major policy change less than a month after surveillance video went public in October that showed an officer shooting a mentally ill man for no apparent reason — contrary to a witnessing officer’s account that led to a felony charge against the victim.
