I am definitely going to break this "last" spare 5 speed before anything else.
If you ever do decide to swap to an automatic keep in mind you'll need a looser converter or some solution for building any boost off the line if you are using a larger turbo. I am using a custom compressed air system with a stock converter to get the results I have, however a small shot of nitrous will do at least as well. With my size turbo and stock converter my junk is a dog out the hole without help spooling turbo. Pat can hook you up with the folks who built his converter. Actually you can follow his lead and go with a c4. You can ask him if he's willing to share converter and bellhousing dimensions. Lots of support for that transmission whereas you are basically on your own if using an older jatco. They aren't that complicated to build, but parts can be an issue.

Thanks, I am sure Pat will be happy to share the info with me, we have chatted about this some. I also realize that you run compressed air for spool, I read your thread.

Anyway, I need to learn how to use the 6 speed better, not sure how you guys are starting in 2nd. I should have beat the guy for 1st place but I didn't get past 4th gear, 4th to 5th is very different. Might get on the top 20 packages list, maybe.

I was finally starting to get the feel for this tranny on the way home.

launch control and flat shift. and if you really want to win: MS3 because it has neat features to help put the power down like boost ramping

If you launch in 2nd gear the terrorists win. Don't do that.

Of course, LC/FFS, I must have had a brain fart.

I did get 14th on the top 20 packages list for my 12.991 on a 12.99 dial.

Ok, this is getting better, I only missed 5th on the 1st pass. Had one semi decent 60' too, no I didn't actually use LC/FFS tonight.
Lost to my good friend in the blue Challenger with a NOS bottle that's faster than a manual heckitty when he runs the bottle anyway. Had a pretty good pass though, only red lit .024 and ran a 12.499 on a 12.50 dial. Double lost with a reverse .025 package, actually not a bad way to lose. I love it there and at this point almost everyone there is a friend, so basically my good friends took 1st 2nd and 3rd. Can't wait 'til next week.

This **** cracked me up when I pulled up to the gate. wall banger class. Man... Look at that thing, now that's a real ******' drift car.

Big oil down today, so I took these

Annnd... It's official, I am a tree hugger. That's right, **** people who don't love trees. What the **** is their problem? It's people like those that are causing the demise of drag strips everywhere.

Anyway, took 3rd place. The first 3 passes are my failed attempt to use FFS. There is definitely potential, but I need to learn to shift this thing first, then attempt FFS. Oh yeah, it was scorching hot today. See you next week, well, see some of you on Saturday.

Roxanne... You don't have to put on the red light, those days are over...
Lost 2nd on the coin toss, then Roxanned harder than the champ. Oh well, still got 3rd... Again at least I got another chrome trophy, they are unusual. I didn't try to practice LC/FFS this time because my laptop battery died on me, but I plan to revisit in the future.
Finally pulled off a 1.99 60' with these damn Conti's, and no missed shifts Thanks for chatting about shifting with me Andrew!

Another fun night, no trophies this time. I got taken out by a Civic who I misread as a noob. I figured I'd go easy on him but he cut a decent light and I couldn't catch him. Oh well, next week.
Some interesting international flags there today, not sure what that's about

Ok, I finally had a reasonable pass using FFS. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th passes were all FFS enabled. The 2nd pass was the only one when I did everything smoothly. The potential is huge, I shifted into 6th way earlier than ever before, next week. I disabled it for elimination and probably made the top 20 packages list with my first elimination round. Then Roxanne showed up and well... Like the FFS, next week. Maybe I shouldn't have wasted so many practice rounds screwing with that ****, but I want to train myself to use it properly.

I had the 3rd best package of the night, only 2 jackpot guys ahead of me. Found some new photos too.

Yes I washed it.

Only wasted my first 3 passes with FFS, got it to work pretty well twice. It definitely messes with my ability to shift normally, I need a couple passes to recover.
Anyway, I lost 2nd place on the coin toss and took 3rd. Had a great night, except that a good friend went to the hospital mid race. We are wishing him well.

It stayed hot all night, which is unusual around here, and no headwind, strange weather.

See you guys next week

Had a rough day, my fan relay quit on the way to the track. I had to pull over probably 4 times to let it cool, then creep along with traffic 'til I had to shut it off again. Finally got past the traffic and it was fine the rest of the night, don't need that **** at the drag strip. Unfortunately that **** affected me and I was driving like crap.
I still took 3rd place again, and now I am in a 3 way tie for 1st place overall in gear jammers.
My last 2 races were really fun, first I eliminated my friend's gt500, then my other friend in the new 5.0 beat me. Both were very close races, way better than losing a coin toss.
Look at this bullshit, nobody wants to race me during elimination. My friend's white mustang is looking nice tho, he has an auto in it running "jackpot" this year.

The guy who tells you when to go and what lane to take said, "Damn! You must be one scary ************. You want left or right lane?" I said, "Yeah, I guess so... In a Miata, left please. "

Last race next week, unless something happens like last week.
Saw this there, pretty uncommon.

Hopefully see you guys next week.

A crazy night, I ended up tied for 2nd overall with one other person. My friend with the blue Challenger won 1st overall, he got a huge trophy and a huge bottle of wine.

Got eliminated with a crap 60'.

This is how many 1/4 miles are on my car so far.
See you guys next year.

Had a great time, did ok, but a little rusty. My check valve assembly for the PCV system works great. Deezums mentioned something like it a few weeks ago.

I will show my diagram of the check valve assembly in my build thread.
