I am currently running a 3.9 from an early rx7 because I have a couple laying around.

Had a fun night. I tried bolting some ballast in the trunk, but I wasn't impressed so it's coming out. I took a few videos but haven't posted them yet.

Had a "Roxanne" night and I couldn't drive worth a crap, hot as hell too. My best pass had some sort of error on the time slip and they couldn't come up with it
Oh well had a good time anyway, hopefully one of my friends won.

Had fun, tried to implement flat shift. First 3 slips are flat shift, I need to work on that. I should have run out my last pass but it was close. I posted a few videos on youtube. Also got this nice photo from the photographer

I started out in the 2 second 60' zone on similar sized tires and after a little work was able to let the clutch out fast enough to get a 1.7 60' without tire spin. I believe I could hit 1.5 second 60' with some more practice but the season is over with here.
I bet that if you got to a 1.6 you would be about 11.50's

That would be the only case in this forum's history where having a 1.6 was a good thing.

1/4 mile trap speed and vehicle weight gives you a peak horsepower number better than any dyno IMO.

The weight is somewhere in here and I'm pretty sure it was heavy. If it's 2700 with driver he's at 373 whp with a 121 mph pass.

Right I agree that trap speed is very telling for sure. 2700 seems heavy for a NB but that would make sense I was thinking with the boost hes running and timing that the hp should be up there. I need to get my car to the track next year I make 373whp on a dynojet should be interesting to see.

Just searched the thread. 2532 lbs. Add driver and 2700 is probably about right.

Haven't been to the dyno in a long time. I would guess about 350 at the wheel There is plenty of room for improvement in my car still.

I mean your car is fast for sure, it would be interesting to see. Maybe you can eek more out of it and run even faster.

trap speed >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dyno all day every day.
you can manipulate pretty much any dyno to ready pretty much anything. not so with the track, aside from maybe headwind/tailwind

Aero drag matters a lot.

not a dynojet they are pretty much the same no matter where you are. And a dyno allows you to see small changes in timing and what works and what doesnt. Its far from useless

Once you start playing with correction factors for things like weather and elevation you can absolutely make a dynojet read whatever you want.

I didn't see anyone in this thread claim a dyno is useless.

Correction factors for elevation don't work for turbo cars, you are correct. Of course, that's true for trap speeds too.

And yes, it's possible to lie to the dyno graphing software about what the ambient pressure is in order to get it to inflate the figures, but at that point you might as well just use photoshop to make a fake dyno sheet.

Used properly (and with understanding the issues involved in altitude and turbo cars) a dynojet is going to give you more information about the power a car is putting out than trap speeds.
